The fact that the team Garrett inherited the year before went 11-5 and won a playoff game.

The inconvenient truth that you and others can't handle.

You want to talk up 1-7 to make Garrett look better than he is, but you can't acknowledge the fact that the same team was a playoff winner the year before.

That's your issue - and theirs - not mine.

The truth I see connected, no matter how much you'd like to wish it weren't, and bit factors are relevant ones, no matter how mightily you wish it wasn't true.

Not to mention the fact that Garrett was very much a part of that 1-7 team.

Can't handle? Talk about an overinflated ego. Jeez guy.

I acknowledged it. I said it was trivial and not relevant to 2010. The only comparison it makes is saying Garrett did better than Wade. You've been seeing ghosts.

I'll take my issues over yours. ;)

Do you feel better now? Or do you have to keep repeating yourself? Working on 41k?

Ego? What does ego have to do with the fact that you can't handle that the team he inherited was a playoff winner the year before?

I acknowledged it. I said it was trivial and not relevant to 2010.

And you were wrong each and every time you tried.

The only comparison it makes is saying Garrett did better than Wade. You've been seeing ghosts.

No, you're covering your eyes because yiud rather not face reality. The issue is yours.

Good. Take them somewhere else. You can lie to yourself all day, you don't get to lie to me.

You tell me? Which one of came back to start replying to me in this thread again?

Oh, that's right, that'd be you.

Your ego is seeking an argument where none exists. You can't accept my position and are arrogant enough to say I "can't handle" yours. I handle it just fine.

And you were wrong each and every time you tried.

If you say so.

No, you're covering your eyes because yiud rather not face reality. The issue is yours.

Covering my eyes by saying Garrett did better than Wade? You still sound like a conspiracy theorist.

Good. Take them somewhere else. You can lie to yourself all day, you don't get to lie to me.

Lie to myself? This is great. You're really feeling it today. Lol

You tell me? Which one of came back to start replying to me in this thread again?

Oh, that's right, that'd be you.

Hey, I'm bored again today. I also enjoy a good meltdown. Tell me more about "my" issues.

Yes, I made a thread a while back. Here are some gems that came out of it, with the help of @BigD5

7 seasons as HC
2 playoff appearances
1 playoff win
3 winning seasons

2017:

Cowboys went 10 quarters without scoring a TD. Club record.
Scored single digits in 3 straight games. Club record.
Lost to a team who had more penalty yardage than offensive yardage. Club record.
4 losses by over 20 points.
8 sacks in 1 game. The most given up by any Cowboy team since 1991.

9 head coaches still have their job since Garrett became the full time HC in 2011:
6 have won Super Bowls and 7 have appeared in the Super Bowl. Marvin Lewis and Jason Garrett are the odd men out.

Garrett is the only Dallas Cowboys coach ever to :

1. lose a game when leading by 14 in 4th qtr (jets 2011)

2. lose a game after leading by 24 (detroit 2011)....did a similar repeat of this later in GB 2013 game

3. The Cowboys (JG) established a new franchise low in rushing touchdowns in the 2011 season with five, which included a rushing TD by Romo himself

4. ice his kicker on a winning kick and lose the game....Arizona 2011

5. lose 3 win or go home games in a row

6. have 3 non winning seasons in a row, (tied with Campo) also coach Landry when the franchise was first created

7. go 8-8 3 seasons in a row

8. had the worst defense in franchise history

In the history of the franchise we have had a QB throw for 400 yds and an offense total 500 yds in a game only 8 times.

SIX of those times have happened under Jason Garrett’s Cowboy teams

Only Dallas Cowboys team to score 10 or less points 3 games in a row?

Jason Garrett’s Cowboys in 2017
Spot on brother. If you ever start thinking you kinda like Jason Garrett, remember we are the DALLAS COWBOYS. Not the Atlanta falcons or New Orleans saints. I know it’s been quite a while since we have been great but that doesn’t negate the fact that we are who we are

We're more like the Bengals. The Falcons and Saints have at least been competitive over the last 20 years.

In the past 25 yrs we are pretty comparable to Cincinnati.

That’s pretty sad.

As far as what coach would do better or whatever than Jason Garrett?

Take your pick. Jason Garrett sucks. He is the worst coach in Dallas Cowboys history. Yes worse than Campo. Campo’s teams simply had zero talent. We have plenty of talent on the roster now. They get ZERO help from the coaching staff

John DeFillipo (Eagles QB coach turned Minnesota OC) and
Matt Lafleur (Rams QB coach turned Tennessee OC)

Both had head coach interviews as QB coaches. That gives you some perspective on what the league thinks of these two.

James Bettcher (nyg DC) - Bruce arians loves this guy

All great young minds. All under 40 yrs old.

Also don’t forget Todd Wash (Jacksonville DC) I’ll wait to see how he does this season but he seems to have a great feel as a DC at least

Point being there are lots of fantastic young coaches in the league already. It’s jerry/Steven jones job to find the right guy.

Me personally? I’d drive a Brinks truck to New England and I wouldn’t leave until Josh McDaniel got in the passenger seat so I can be sure he was going back to Dallas with me

Basically anyone who has coached at any level. I looked it up a couple of years ago. There isn't a head coach in the league with less coaching experience than Jason Garrett. Even 32 year old Sean McVay had 9 years of coaching experience before getting the HC job in LA.

You're absolutely ríght about those rushing numbers:

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/2010.htm

There's a stark difference post Green Bay to pre-Green Bay (Wade fired). Night and day.

Yep........the big hangup on Garrett is that he was one dimensional and pass happy. He would abandon the run in the first quarter after a couple of negative runs. He was FORCED to run because, some loser backup we had was now the QB. And we all of a sudden started winning. You HAVE to run the ball whether its working or not.

What's it going to be then, eh?

My main hope is that when (not if) Garrett is canned that we go after a young mind like Riley.

The timing is ripe.

my point is that if you have to say "he's better than some of the worst coaches!" to support him, maybe you shouldnt

There's a difference between supporting someone and noting that other coaches have done worse with other teams. Noting that other coaches have done worse is a simple fact, to conclude that it is supporting Garrett is making an inference that isn't there.

I have never said I support Garrett. I have said he needed time to learn, but he's had that. I have also said repeatedly that he has to accomplish a lot more this year to be considered worthy to be the head coach.

If that's considered "supporting" him that's incorrect, and not what I said.
