There's a difference between supporting someone and noting that other coaches have done worse with other teams. Noting that other coaches have done worse is a simple fact, to conclude that it is supporting Garrett is making an inference that isn't there.

I have never said I support Garrett. I have said he needed time to learn, but he's had that. I have also said repeatedly that he has to accomplish a lot more this year to be considered worthy to be the head coach.

If that's considered "supporting" him that's incorrect, and not what I said.

Semantics. You’re building a case to paint him in a positive light. Whatever your intent it’s poor execution. Sorry

I've never ignored anything. I've acknowledged 1-7 at every turn. What I haven't done is what you want to do "selective history".

I'm not "ignoring" Wade's own faults and failings.

But somehow, he never "sucked" enough to have a worse record in Dallas than the guy you're trying to defend? So who "sucks" worse then?

D'oh!

Yes you are, your claim he was sabotaged by Garrett is definitely ignoring his own fault and failing for getting fired...lol

Wade Phillips in Dallas - .607

Jason Garrett in Dallas - .558

You're right, Wade was, in fact, "better here."
And maybe if Wade could have hired his own OC he would have done better here.

Lol....the offenses here under JG during Wade’s tenure were better than his defenses, he should be glad he wasn’t allowed to pick his own, he wouldn’t have last that long....lol

the fact that Garrett had an 11-5 squad from Wade is proven by the fact that they went 5-3 the 2nd half. And that was without Romo. Double 5-3 and its 10-6. Pretty close. How can you have a real 1-7 team if it goes 5-3 the next 8 games without its franchise QB?

Fact of the matter is injuries cost us the first couple game of the year. And that was the year Garrett was passing 80% of the time getting Romo killed and being one dimensional. Once Romo went down Garrett was FORCED to run the ball. All of a sudden we started winning games. In the 2nd half of that year we were one of the top rushing teams in the NFL. Once again Garrett stumbles into a solution rather than figuring it out on his own. Everything takes years with Garrett. He is always behind the curve and never ahead of it. He is a copycat. NO original ideas of his own. No football 6th sense about anything.

Again another, Wade left a 1-7 team behind...lol

Yep........the big hangup on Garrett is that he was one dimensional and pass happy. He would abandon the run in the first quarter after a couple of negative runs. He was FORCED to run because, some loser backup we had was now the QB. And we all of a sudden started winning. You HAVE to run the ball whether its working or not.
so you run on first...2 yards...you run on second 1 yard...do you now run or pass?

next possession...you run the ball...1 yard...you run the ball 3 yards...do you now run or pass?

next possession your run the ball 5 yards..you run the ball 1 yard...do you now run or pass?

its not about how many times you run...the novice say that...its about effectiveness of the running game, so the defense has to play you honest...if you can't run and they can stop you with one less player....then the defense will drop players into coverage and makes it hard to pass....

that's called the inconvenient truth.....you have to remember these guys will keep pointing to something that support their agenda...if the year before we went 7-9 but the year before that we went 12-4, they would say we were 12-4 two years before....it supports their agenda...

and they forgot that it was Kitna not romo.....but that too is an inconvenient fact

I dont want to start another bash garret or who's going to be the next Head coach...

but I was thinking about this today, who's available and who's better than him right now at where he's at... I know he's been learning on the job.... most people do in this day and age, but looking at College coaches they have to learn Pro game... looking at coordinators they have to learn how to be a head coach. looking at Retreads, they have to learn how the game is played today...

so my question is simple Who could replace him & be better than him right now where he's at today with this franchise.

What coach would be available in May ?

Jerry JR. has about as much experience as Garrett had coming in. Heck give him 10 years to do nothing. Then we could say it was Jerry's fault for not letting little Jerry Jr. do his job.

Threads like this are not helpful to a fanbase that needs to be focused on a team in transition from good to great. The FO is behind the coach so get over it. We have great competition to look forward to at training camp to see how this team comes together. New coaches as key positions seem to be making improvements. Give your hate for JG a rest and get behind this teams 2018-19 quest for SB glory.

You cant abandon it. And if you remember correctly Garretts MO was to pass on first down, then run on second down.

But if you dont run it some then you miss out on play action. As if you recall, Garrett did less than anyone.

Even if the run game isnt working great you wear out the other team and you keep them honest.

a better question: "Which head coach has been available every year since Garrett SHOULD have been canned (2015)?"

Then how did they go 5-3 the next 8 games without their best player in Romo if the were truly a 1-7 team?

Ouch!!! Not easy to explain is it?

It’s easy to explain, how long have you watched football? Anytime you make a change at the coaching position can go two ways, either the team continue to spiral, or the team see it as a galvanizing move with fear that their jobs are on the line next, you get a fresh voice and dare I say it, a better coach. Not only was JG voice a new one, but Paul Pasqualoni(sp) was as well. I mean really, that had to be explained?

so we should run on first downs, every time? never pass? wouldn't that make you predictable?

down and distance in the subsequent downs often dictate run/pass.....run for 2 yards...2nd and 8....if you haven't been successful all day running it...then I tend to lean to pass...if you bang your head into a wall and it hurts...bangining into it again doesn't make the pain less......

NFL is about balance, execution, don't execute well, I don't care run or pass you will suck either way regardless of how many times you do it.

again, run it effectively vs. run it...the two are different...if you can't understand the difference between the two, then not sure if its worth my time discussing this...
