Which Head Coach that is available is better than Garrett right now?

We certainly can’t be sure. I’m not even sure of Stephens future after Jerry is gone .

Will Jerry Jr and Char allow Stephen to run football operations as he sees fit especially without Anymore success?
The fact Stephen's more or less running the show now clearly suggests it's jerry's wish. I'm certain he's reduced it to writing. He's too smart not to have done so.

Most likely Marinelli is about to retire and any struggles in offense this year will result in Linehans departure.

We’ll be lucky to find a better DC than Rod. He’s done pretty well over the years with mostly Jags.
The jags have been a direct result of his rigid philosophy on defense. He has had a direct role in the talent that has been brought in.

This is a man who would downgrade draft prospects for their lack of "quick twitch" yet would have a player like Nick Hayden start for him for three years. Most DCs would be losing their minds to get an upgrade.

Marinelli is basically an emeritus professor. Nobody is going to fire him. Nobody really is going to question his method. You just wait for retirement.

Dak over Tony. No dez. New o-line coach. New wr coach. More autonomy for Linehan.
Wait, so a player getting injured, a malcontent imbecile wearing out his welcome, a new position coach and more stroke for the OC equals the head coach's neck is on the chopping block?

Well, if you say so, I guess.

There’s plenty of excuses in place for sure. Not many are picking us to be a playoff team except some over zealous fans. Ha

I’m not sure how much we can credit or blame Rod for the talent he’s had. But I think he’s done OK with what he’s had.

Again mere speculation . My hunch is team is left to his wife. She has said she doesn’t want her children in the spotlight running the team like Jerry has.

And if I’m Char and Jerry Jr who obviously appear much better at what they do than Stephen am very suspect at letting Stephen take Jerry’s role.

Unless Stephen is prepared to buy his siblings out. Rarely do we see siblings agree in one having more power .

That is the point. He is content to with his guru status. Imagine if he insisted on more talent? This is a weak minded organization that bent over backwards to give Rob Ryan what he wanted immediately.

You keep throwing out these data points as if they dispute anything I've said previously. But since they don't in any way, it's pointless and adds nothing to the discussion here.

We know when McClay was promoted. He wasn't 'brought in' because he's worked in our personnel department since 2002. He was made Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2013. Vice President of Player Personnel in 2017.

You claimed the big change occurred the moment Garett became head coach. Facts show otherwise. It was when McClay took over 3 years after. The articles points that out in detail.

Our focus has been offensively because Jerry runs our team thru the eyes of a fan who follows the ball. Offense puts butts in the seats and sells jerseys. If your going to struggle at least have an exciting offense and stars to watch.

But the better drafts begun in 2011?

If that is what you gleaned from my post so be it.

Congratulations. You have identified a root cause of our problems.

To anyone who wants to laud Marinelli for doing more with less, what do you think of what the Rams are doing?

They are doubling down on the DC genius factor with Phillips.

It's not their choice. It's what Jerry puts in writing. Jerry will determine his exit strategy just as he will distribute his estate in his will. That's how things work in a legal format. Personal jealousy is irrelevant in this case.

The obvious answer is that both of those events were significant. You're the one suggesting only one of them was. For no apparent reason.

The first offseason after Garrett took over, they jettisoned Colombo, Leonard Davis, and Andre Gurode. They got rid of Marion Barber, Roy Willams, and Sam Hurd. Then they drafted Tyron Smith and Demarco Murray in 2011. And Travis Frederick in 2013 in the draft before elevating McClay. If you don't think they made specific changes in how they approached personnel immediately when Jason Garrett came in, you're smoking crack.

Nobody suggested things didn't also change when they elevated McClay. But they've also promoted McClay three times since Garrett's been here. Those promotions all happened with Garrett's input, if he wasn't the driving force for it directly. Again, McClay has been here since 2002. It doesn't take much critical thinking to figure out there's probably a correlation between the new HC liking his work and his string of promotions in the personnel department.

Just a few months ago the fo offered to make eberflus the dc if he would stay and give marinelli a Monty post. That suggests the fo is not as enamored with rod as some might think. I'd prefer a clean sweep. Hc, oc, and dc. Next year.
