Gruden / Shanahan / Holmgren

I'll take any of those 3.

Sign me up.

Although I do think Garrett has been very good this year so far, and if he continues to get better as the season goes (i.e ONE fade pass at the goal line, ONE!!!) I'd be inclined to at least add him to the conversation.

Yeah, I thought about Garrett a little more after I posted that. I'm just not sure on his coaching style. I know the coaching style that those 3 bring.

True, and I'd also worry about his ability to challenge Jerry over doing something stupid.

I also wonder if Gruden would ever come here if had to deal with Jerry too - coaching for Al Davis and then Jerry Jones must be a recipe for therapy.

I can see a lot of zoners in here with an axe to grind, trying to mock fellow zoners and their decision to weigh in on choices to replace Wade...The irony, of course, is that the entire planet knows Wade is on the bubble so to be discussing it hardly is deserving of the ire it's raising.

If not only for the fact that he's not demonstrated any reason to believe he's been doing a great job as a head coach but the mere fact that Garrett has been handpicked by Jerry himself makes it a fait accompli that Wade is on borrowed time.

In fact, I'd wager it'd be pretty hard to put together a positive list of attributes/qualities for keeping Wade on regardless of what happens at season's end...He's the definition of 'Dead Man walking'

Wade is not the 1st coach on the hot seat, hell some of those on the list were on hot seats and got fired.

I know some fans like certain style of coaches to me it is not what fans like it is how the players respond to what the coach and his staff are doing and yes it is by and large Wade staff.

Garrett was brought in by Jerry, Miami put a time table on how long they would allow Garrett to talk with teams so Jerry pulled the trigger but there is no doubt in my mind who the HC is nor do I think any players doubt that Wade is the HC.

Wade does have say in what the offense does even though he is not calling the offensive plays. I seriously doubt Jason has any say on defense.

If Wade fails then like any coach he deserves to be fired but I think he deserves his fair shake before being ran out of town

I want Wade to stay. I know I am crazy, but I blame the players the most.

I'm leaning towards Garrett, providing that his offense is considered top tier at the end of the year.If Wade were to have some success in the post season, atleast enough to appease Jerry,I wouldn't mind him staying either.

Some of the things that I like about about Garrett is that he is young enough to keep around for awhile if he has success. He also is respected by Jerry and Stephen, that should relate to more leeway than an outsider would have in personell/staff decisions. If Jerry were to hire Garrett as Wades successor,he could bring in Holmgren as a consultant until Garrett gets his feet wet.

Craig

I think that's a pretty good idea, I wish Jerry would consider something like this

A young, unknown hotshot along the lines of Tomlin or Rex Ryan. No warmed over, recycled, desperate-for-a-job candidates like Holmgren, Gruden, or Shanahan. In short, no "stars."

^^This^^ (and Garrett might fall under that category)

If Jerry is worth a damn as a GM, he should know of several coaches that are younger, talented and ambitious that we can build an organization around. I'm tired of hiring coaches that are in Jerrys age group that he can either control or apparently feel more comfortable around. I also don't believe switching coaches every 3 to 4 years is good for the organization and causes too many up and down seasons.

With the advent of the salary cap, free agency and parity, a good organization should remain competitive every year, that should be the Dallas Cowboys!

I know a lot of people are down on Garrett, but given the constraints that come with Jerry as GM, I'm not 100% convinced he shouldn't get the nod. We would keep some continuity in the staff, his dad was a coach, his brother(s?) coach and I think he is smart enough to improve over time. He also has a lot of resources to pull from for advice and I'm not convinced Wade being in charge doesn't cramp the style he'd like to lead with. He certainly has many attributes I would think a GM would look for in a head coach, I guess our concern around here is whether he was more influenced by Mike Martz or Jimmy Johnson. If it was the latter, he may find success.

I don't think this is racist to say, but I think we should consider hiring an up and coming African American coach. There has to be a lot of untapped talent out there because not many have been given an opportunity to be head coach. Looks like Jerry should have gone with his gut and hired Sngletery when he had the chance. I'd love to have that type of motivational leader as our coach, but I'm not sure Jerry will let anyone with too strong of a personality be HC again.

Cowher has been to the promised land. He knows the 3-4. He will challenge players. He has the Championships and playoff victory(s) experience.
When a guy false starts on the 2 yard line I want the headset thrown and the spit and *** kicking to commence right away.

A vote for Wade is a vote for mediocrity. The guy's been a coach a long time, and has yet to get it done. If not for Jones' grand plan to make Garrett his coach, Wade would've already been fired. He never would've been hired in the first place were it not for Jerry thinking Wade would be the most pliable when it came to his Garrett plan.

Anything success the team has will be in spite of Wade, not because of him.

Gruden

02 - 12 -4 Dungy's team
03 - 7-9
04 - 5- 11
05 - 11-5
06 - 4-12
07 - 9-7
08 - 9-7

Shanahan

02 – 8 -8
03 - 9-7
04 – 10-6
05 – 13-3
06 – 9-7
07 – 7-9
08 – 8 -8

Holmgren

02 – 7-9
03 – 10-6
04 - 9 -7
05 - 13-3
06 – 9-7
07 – 10 -6
08 – 4 – 12

ALL of them are slipping into the black whole seems to be getting worse each year

it JG's job to lose

No to Cowher - Gruden - Shanny - Holmgren
I rather have Billick than any of those clowns

I think if we get Garrett as HC - or hire some young guy that is hungry just like Jimmy was

Ron Rivera
Jim Harbaugh
In January 2009, Harbaugh was confirmed to have been interviewed by the New York Jets for the head coach position], although the job was eventually offered to Rex Ryan[6].

keep Herring as DC
move Dat to LB coach
keep Sheman as WR coach
keep Peete as RB coach

maybe keep Houck as line coach because the line has come around a little since hes been here

maybe Ken Zampese is in his seventh season as Bengals quarterbacks coach. He has guided the development of Carson Palmer into one of the NFL's elite passers and team leaders. as - OC
or Hue Jackson OC

fire Wade - Campo - Maxie - Wade Wilson - Wesley Phillips - Grantham - Juraszek
Juraszek cause there some reason our guys are getting tired at the end of a game

an please fire Wade Wilson because - he held Troy back as a QB when Troy was QB

Jason Garrett? seriously?

Oh, that's right. He's the guy Jerry handpicked and hired before we even had a HC a few years ago. I guess knowing that's who Jerry has been trying to groom for the job swayed a few people.

There are 8 options.

Is that not enough for you either?
