Until we dont have one or know the one we have is assuredly gone, this is kinda moot.

That said, my preference is its either Garrett or Wade, because that means this years team has done well.

Guys I keep seeing the same answer "I want Wade because that means we did good this year"

Notice I did not put a date on this ..... I did not say next year or this year or 2 years from now.

Just wanted to know who you would pick to replace Wade.

Urban Meyer? I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. This whole bit about him taking the concussion tests with Tebow is more than a little gay to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that. LOL

I voted for Shany for what it's worth.

That's simply not true.

First Wade's winning percentage as a head coach is equitable to those guys you list. They all had long stretches as a head coach and won Super Bowls a very low percentages of their head coaching years. Cowher was literally given forever to win in Pittsburgh.
Playoff records:

Wade Phillips 0-4
Jimmy Johnson 9-4
Bill Parcells 11-8
Bill Cowher 12-9

When it matters most, Wade has shown himself to be nothing more than a total failure.

A big omission in this commentary is that Cowher worked for an organization that kept a very low payroll...He didn't have the benefit of a freespending owner like Jerry that would do whatever it took to get whomever was 'needed'.

In other words, Cowher succeeded where many may not have by winning through the draft and his coaching rather big FA signings....That point cannot be discounted in viewing the person as a coaching prospect

I voted for Shanny. I also like Cowher but I just cannot stomach a steeler guy coaching the Dallas Cowboys. I also like the idea of JG but I'm also leary of a head coaching experiment right now. IMO, the best fit of talent and temperament is Shanny. If Shanny were to say no, I think I'd be more willing to take a chance on JG and the hopes of having a true Cowboy head coach.

Who would you want?

Well, that is the million dollar question now isn't it?

I am not sure man, I really don't know.

I know I don't like the 3-4. Thanks Parcellls.

I know I don't like the WCO. And also hell no to rat boy shanny

Gruden? No

Cowher? No.

Wade? No?

Hard choices to come for Jerry I reckon. If it comes down do it.

I just can't see Shanahan in Dallas.Shanahan likes to run a zone blocking scheme that doesn't fit out current personell. If I remember correctly they tried a zone blocking scheme some years back(Allen was still here)and it didn't go over very well.I really can't see Cowher here either,I just don't think he is smart enough to deal with Jerry.Thats not to say that Cowher is an idiot,it's just that I don't see him being articulate enough to deal with Jerry. While Cowher might be what a team like this needs,he's not a good match with the management.Holmgren is getting older by the day and who knows how long he would commit 100% to the job.I know Garrett is considered the anti-christ by many, however he may be the best choice or lesser of two evils.Atleast with Garrett you would have the same offensive philosophy/terminology,and would likely retain most of the current staff.I think that is important because time is going to catch up with this team before we know it.Point is the window of oppurtunity will be shut sooner than not,Romo is getting closer to 30 than 25,continuity may be what he needs to get over the hump.

Ofcoarse if Wade is successful enough to appease Jerry he might get an extension, just to early to tell whether Wade stays or goes.

Poor Wade. The body's not even cold yet and we've already replaced him.
