Which linebackers should be starting?

Who should our starting LB's be

We don't get along because you type like a 6 year old and because you consistently miss analyzations. In this one, you falsely assign what I say about Jerry as me looking for a chance to use it. I doubt if you're wise enough to even understand that if a GM doesn't understand a LB's development then he should not be the GM.

Maybe put a little more time into adult-type typing and less time into long-winded gibberish.

Yet another swing and a miss by you. This wasn't personal at all, what is up w/ your pathetic attempt to make it personal?
No no I will not whatever you're trying to say is absolutely not you're deflecting because you know I'm right that's all I'm saying you're blaming Jerry for wrongly assessing and developing or seeing whether a player has instincts or not when that's all on the coaches and the scouts and Will Mcclay and everyone else but Jerry because that's not Jerry's job...

You get that you said Jerry as if he has any real responsibilities in that area other than acquiescing to Matt Eberflus wanting these guys on his team Jerry's putting faith in a very experienced defensive coordinator and defensive staff and you just tried to put the blame on Jerry as usual because you're a Jerry Hater And I said you made a very false ridiculously over reactive statement..

Nice trying to deflect by saying you just don't like how I responded and I took it the wrong way now there's no taking that the wrong way.... Jerry's not the defensive coordinator or the linebackers coach he's not the head coach he's not a part of the scouting department and he's not Will Mcclay..

Sure he's responsible for acquiescing to a coaches list of players he wants on his team that's it that's where the blame stops..

Type like an adult so I can read it w/o my decipher ring from the Cracker Jack box. Can't find it.

Really, none of them.

Liufau and James have some potential but need more development. They are liabilities on some plays and in position on others. They need more time in this system.

Murray and Clark just don’t have the instincts for LB, IMO. They’re both out of position way too often and lost in coverage much of the time. I can’t imagine they would suddenly find those instincts.

And Sanborn just doesn’t seem to have the athleticism for the job, though he’s good between the ears.

That's always the hope we've all been disappointed around here with flashes in a pan you know what I mean like I have hoped that they will That's why I said I'd rather have mistakes coming from youth with Hope than what we already notice is not working with the veterans...

Not encouraging that I heard that they're probably starting Murray at middle linebacker I don't know if that's true or not but that's what they say he's practicing the green dot so I don't know who they're sacrificing from the youth but at times we probably need all three on the field.. But that is understandable given I don't think these young players have ever called the defense...
It’s the #1 off-season need in my opinion, to find a high level, true middle linebacker

Liufau and James are fun to watch fly around the field and hit people…but be careful what you wish for in those 2 being every down starters. There’s a lot more to playing LB than running and hitting people and I’m not sure either player is nearly developed enough to play assignment smart football. Not to mention 1 of them would have to be the guy wearing the green dot and calling/directing the defense. But then again, I guess you can argue that it can’t get any worse

My real answer is that we don’t have a legit NFL starting LB on the roster until Overshown is back.

I think most want the young ones so there is at least an chance for growth and upside. They could suck too, but you have that hope.

People dont really understand how good micah was his rookie year playing off ball lber
Some believe that Micah wouldn't have as much impact as a true LB than a pass rusher but I vehemently disagree. he was built to be an NFL linebacker.

Micah Parsons outran every cornerback drafted the same year. He had world class speed. he also had a very unique talent whenit came to perusing in traffic. He could shed blockers and hone in to the ball carrier. His closing speed was amazing.

Micah is a violent tackler. He was constantly creating turnovers that others benefited from. Both Lawrence and Armstrong scored off turnovers created by Micah.

Putting Parsons at EDGE wore him down each season. He was constantly double teams by O-linemen that were 60-80 pounds heavier. After his first 12 games of the season, his average sacks per game dropped from almost one per game to a half. .

As a LB, Micah could still pass rush with the freedom of not having to go through 2-3 guys on the line. His other attributes would not be wasted battling in the trenches.

Of course, that ship has sailed and I hope the two 1st round picks will put this trade in the Cowboys favor.

It may be but we keep debating this before the end of the season somebody might emerge it we talked about this already it took almost nine games before Zimmer's defense started looking good last year It may take longer this year but with Matt as the linebacker specialist apparently that was his thing I think he'll get this going,

My opinion is way too soon to start compiling needs list for next year and I'm talking about way too soon we're not even farther into this season as we are away from the offseason we just completed the roster so let's wait...

Especially let's see what this looks like with overshown next to a couple of these guys and figure it out let's let the front figure this out how to stop the run and the pass and not exposing the run game in order to fix the back end I think it needs to come together before we get a real picture of how it's gonna look....

Disagree. Yes, it is still early, but they already have benched multiple players at the position. Even if a James or a Marist develops into a quality starter, neither have the upside potential of an elite player at the position nor are they future mike backers. Murray is probably the only one we have on the roster and he is too slow to react. Overshown is your ideal will linebacker.

Murray is supposed to be playing MLB this game...Rico better buckle up.

I like Sanborn. Maybe get the broke neck wolf back, and flipper foot Smith, and this would be a Super Bowl team. *howls, while holding neck so it doesn't fall off* *cough, cough*. :D

Vote for your starting 3. Excluding Overshown due to uncertain availability
Sorry to be troublesome, but on over 75% of plays only two Linebackers take the field.

They really couldn't have done better than Kenneth Murray?
Many of the front office decisions this pass offseason are looking nearly brilliant. But the Murray signing...especially at the price they paid....deserves...to be generous... a D- grade.

Anthony Hill, Taureen York, and James/Tiffy.
Serious size concerns with York. He’ll be a SS in the NFL, I think. Fantastic game intelligence for his age though.
I’d take him for the secondary in a heartbeat. There’s just no way he’s an NFL ‘backer at 5’10 and 225lb.

Hill almost the opposite. Prototypical athletic traits, but he’s a bit raw. I’d still take him.

CJ Allen is where it’s at for me.

Shemar , Liufauh and Murray. Rotate Overshown in there when he gets healthy. Don't need Sanborn starting. I've seen enough. Maybe in obvious goal line situations.
I didn't know who to choose for the third and even if Overshown is on the list don't know how he is coming back and I love Overshown that's why I agree to rotate

I get you do not like Liufau but he does have talent and has made plays. If he can get it all together he can be very good.
Maybe he won't but to claim he does not have potential is just your willful blindness speaking
He just needs to be on the field

Mr Leroy Jordan
Mr Chuck Howley
Mr DD Lewis

Go Cowboys!
