Who should our starting LB's be

Some believe that Micah wouldn't have as much impact as a true LB than a pass rusher but I vehemently disagree. he was built to be an NFL linebacker.

Micah Parsons outran every cornerback drafted the same year. He had world class speed. he also had a very unique talent whenit came to perusing in traffic. He could shed blockers and hone in to the ball carrier. His closing speed was amazing.

Micah is a violent tackler. He was constantly creating turnovers that others benefited from. Both Lawrence and Armstrong scored off turnovers created by Micah.

Putting Parsons at EDGE wore him down each season. He was constantly double teams by O-linemen that were 60-80 pounds heavier. After his first 12 games of the season, his average sacks per game dropped from almost one per game to a half. .

As a LB, Micah could still pass rush with the freedom of not having to go through 2-3 guys on the line. His other attributes would not be wasted battling in the trenches.

Of course, that ship has sailed and I hope the two 1st round picks will put this trade in the Cowboys favor.
Absolutely. I wonder who was the idiot in this organization to move him to DE full time. My guess is front office.

Dexter Coakley, Sean Lee, and DAT Nguyen
As many great defensive HCs the Cowboys had, they have never had a defense that ranked #1 in both points and yards allowed.

The closest they ever came was ranking #2 in points allowed while ranking #1 in yards allowed.

That was in 2003 when the LBers were Dexter Coakley, Dat Nguyen, and Al Singleton.

This wasn't Doomday or Doomday II. This wasn't Jimmy Johnson's team of the 90's. This wasn't the 3-4 defense built by Bill Parcells in one draft

Parcells was the HC but he only kept it as a 4-3 defense because he didn't have time or the personnel for the 3-4 he wanted.

That defense was actually in transition. Parcells did install some aspects of a 3-4 like the "mystery" pass rusher. Only one of the 11 starters on defense didn't record a sack that season.

Parcells didn't want Dat or Dexter. They were too small for his style of 3-4 defense.

The 2003 defense propelled the team to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth for the first time in four seasons. One season later and both Dat and Dexter were gone.

They had no other choice because they’re that incompetent. They had nobody else who could play DE.

Remember Parsons covering WR’s on 9 routes down the field and running with them step for step? I remember.
