Lambeau. We would've won it all.

Assuming we made the SB in '07, NE would've destroyed us. That offense was too good and we didn't have the pass rush to negate it.

If you watched him be horrible all season, it shouldn't have been a surprise he was horrible.

wow.

Nobody was surprised. What is surprising is how some can acknowledge everything which worked against the team winning that day and how some cannot.

2007 seemed earned. We lost because of ourselves. 2014 seems taken. That's the difference.

Maybe we should get Liam Neeson to call Gene Steratore.

I don't see a how terrible player playing to his ability is working against you. It's getting the expected result.

2007 still hurts. That team was so dominant on all phases. This team was still struggling defensively so I was enjoying the success but was still reserved as to my expectations.

Easily Sunday because Dez caught that damn ball and they stole it from us.

If Bozo the Red Head doesn't botch the end of the first half and DeMarco Murray doesn't go all DeMarco Murray when the red sea parted, it's a totally different game. Hell if James Hanna falls on that ball, it's a different game. Just like the Lions did last week, the Cowboys had their chances.

Lambeau for sure. This years team played as a team on both sides of the ball the 07 team just didn't leave me that impression. Not to mention they gave the game away in 07 this year the Dez call, Cobb's catch, and the three hits on Romo that were not called.

A couple of other points for me on why this loss was tougher:

that 2007 team was leaking oil. Last 3 weeks - loss to Philly at home, beat bad Carolina team by 7, destroyed by Washington on road in meaningless finale (Uncle Wade would never have the guts/authority or whatever to play the starters the whole way and generate or maintain momentum).

2014 saw the Cowboys average 41 points over the final 4 weeks, soundly beat the final 4 regular season opponents, and gutted out a tough wild card round victory. Additionally, had they beaten the Packers, this team had already smacked the defending champs in their own house in October, and unhinged then dismantled the Colts by 35. That's 2 of the remaining other 3 teams that would have been vanquished, and I wouldnt call this a vintage NE team as the other remaining team. Get past Lambeau, and this team certainly had more than a puncher's chance to hoist the franchise's 6th Lombardi. I never felt that 2007 team was going to beat NE, even though the giants did. No way that 2007 defense could hold the Pats under 35.

The expected result = major contributing factor for the margin of victory for New York.

Reeves' inability to perform at an NFL level at a crucial time factored into the loss. Yet, that fact does not get mentioned often. Does this factor escape comprehension?

Ironically enough.. Being that the patriots are always in the mix ... I think we lose either time.

Both stung. But this one more.... A balanced offense, running game through playoffs was our best shot!

What is do daunting about the Patriots? Their defense is swiss cheese. We could have beat them this year. In fact, if we had got through the NFC, the AFC in the SB would have been the easiest matchup of the playoffs. The AFC is not on the NFC's level.

And despite all that it still came down to 4th and 2 and the Cowboys completing a throw to the 1 yard line that was taken away from them.

You can't excuse a bad call because other things could have went differently earlier in the game. If that was the case, no calls in the history of the game screwed a team.

Play better and one call doesn't decide the game. The fact that the Cowboys couldn't overcome that call and still weren't guaranteed to win even if they'd gotten it means they really didn't deserve to win.

We played better in this loss than in 2007, as far as being on the road in a tough place to win against the best QB.

And we *may* have won without the reversed call. There is no feeling on my part of us blowing this, other than not having a good enough pass rush but that was no surprise going in.

Lambo easy!! This team is full of vets, and young hungry guys. Offensively, We are as good as anyone in the NFL. Defensively, I think we weren't that good, but coached up enough to win it all...this hurts more, because it was right in our hands, we didnt take it, and then it got taken..

.It's like the kid who waited all day for the ice cream cone, only to walk out of the store and half of it falls on the ground, then out of nowhere a dog jumps up and still the rest of the cone right out of his hands.

Like that analogy.... Very fitting :):)

I think that's nonsense. "Play better" doesn't excuse a bad call at the end of the game.

Again, it doesn't get mentioned because Jacques Reeves always sucked. Should a book be written about how JJ Wilcox, who has displayed poor technique all season, displaying poor technique against the Packers?

2007 HURTS more because we were disappointed.

This is more maddening and feels more violating, because we lost on a bad call and a shorter rule.

Ill never forget this game in all my life. I hope the death threats for Gene dont end.

Without question 2007. They were the best team in the NFC that year, and had handled the Giants in their two prior meetings. With Romo having the banged up thumb, and TO having the high ankle sprain, they weren't at 100% going into the game, so the door was opened for the defeat, but they still should have won and advanced. Two personnel decisions made for that game, IMHO, came back to haunt them:
  • Starting Terry Glenn at WR. He was completely done and unproductive. It caused Crayton to sulk, and his lack of focus came back to bite them in the game.
  • Starting Marion Barber. Yes, he came out like gang busters, but was completely exhausted in the fourth quarter, which had been his time to shine as the closer. Julius Jones was a complete non-factor.
This year, as I didn't expect them to win more than 6 games, to me, they were playing with house money. It was disappointing that they didn't advance, but this was the most enjoyable football season for me as a fan in a long time. My disappointment was more for the players who played their butts off to give them a chance. Watching the sadness on Romo, Witten and Bryant's faces was very tough to see.

Sunday's and 2007 losses hurt. 1994 hurt worse. Super Bowl XIII's loss hurt worse than 1994...
