I have no idea what MM offense will be. I do know that the KM offense had topped out with this QB and he will be the QB for the next several years. Therefore you have to change something and you try a different offense. I just hope we had got a young innovative guy from SF or KC or Philly. The reality is that Hurts is not better than Dak. So changing the system was the answer

Doesn't matter. Jerry is setting MM up for failure and Dak will be cut 6/1/24.
In the meantime we can watch Quinn continue developing the defense and wait for the coaching change.

Kellen’s offense worked. To put all the blame on the #1 ranked offense is a little severe.

McCarthy got play calling stripped in GB and it ultimately got him fired. The devil you know vs the devil you don’t.
.....you do realize stats can be misleading sometimes, or fail to tell the whole story.......#1 ranked offense filled with quite a bit of "empty calories", and dismissed situational football too many times.

Well you might not care but I assure you it's relevant. Mike McCarthy wasn't going to any Super Bowls in Green Bay with Dak Prescott but Kellen Moore might have the last two years with Aaron Rodgers.
What a ridiculous take considering Rodgers hasn’t been back since. Yet people make it sound like he wins the Super Bowl every year.

The only defense for Kellen is that our offense was highly ranked. Hard to argue that, right?
Yet, how many of you were really impressed with the actual scheme?
Why could we never run a successful screen with a RB?
Why did every trick play end with negative yards?
Why did our offense disappear in most big games?
Kellen rarely ran rub routes or crossing pattern to scheme receivers open.
The scheme and play calling were extremely vanilla.
I still say he had to scheme DOWN for Dak's lack of IQ.

McC didn't get a lot of face time during games but when he did, he seemed frustrated and I assume the offensive strategy and play calling was part of that.

He has a lot of experience and has been around these players so he knows their strengths and he is very aware of the frustrating parts of Moore's offense for the skill position players.

Most importantly, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of his QB and we shall now get to see if the routes and calls change from the previous ones.

On the other hand, I think McCarthy is a very good offensive coach and he's had enough time here to know the personnel and what they can and can't do.

It can work but I wouldn't have done this. When you can produce the 2nd best offense in the league over your 4 years with this talent, you are an overachiever as a coordinator who should have plenty of job security here.
I dont think the goal is overachieving,,,or having the 2nd best offense in the league....IMO the goal is being able to beat playoff caliber teams in the playoffs....KM's offense sucked in the playoffs...great regular season Offense but the offense needs to click against top caliber teams when it counts....

Garbage time stats and running up stats on games already over against poor competition isn’t as impressive as the numbers

It really shouldn't be a make or break year. It almost definitely is but I don't think it's fair.
If Mike gets us in the playoffs three years in a row he should be revered around here for years to come. I think he wanted to take over the offense because he’s tired of seeing Dak and Moore screw things up for this team.

Well…Zeke is past his prime physically (sorry Stephen) and Pollard will be coming off of injury/surgery; our QB sees the field poorly, has issues reading defenses and forces the ball when feeling pressed or pressured; our WRs are suspect and aren’t able to get any separation with the exception of CD and possibly Gallup, who should come back closer to form after another year removed from surgery. We need a LG as you can’t count on a 41 year-old veteran to play consistently and start all the games; and maybe an upgrade at center; hopefully Steele is back and able to man the RT position.
So I am not counting on some new, other-worldly offense where MM dusts off his magic playbook and transcends this offense. Maybe the offense was already operating at peak efficiency given the personnel on the team. I don’t need the Cowboys to score more points or gain more yards; I need them to move the ball and possess the ball on a more consistent basis.
The Cowboys have been battling these inconsistencies for years; and there have been different coordinators. What is MM going to do that his predecessors were unable to do?

I doubt anyone will notice anything difference.
Whatever style of offense it is, they still have to run well and complete crucial passes and get first downs.
People will still complain....
No difference....

Yeah, that's silly.

There's no such thing as a regular season scheme. There is, however, bad QBs you can't win with when you play the best teams.

Where do I start on Kellen?

Took him how many years to realize Pollard is his best weapon? Probably should have been a QB Coach longer, never felt offensive line and RBs ever reached their potential with KM. Head Coach has to hold him back and tell him not to throw every damn down. Does his best Seattle Seahawks impression on so many goal line stands. Offensive line rotates like a pass rushing defense.

Fair or not, the offense has fallen apart in the Playoffs several times. Defense got better under Big Mac, offense got worse. McCarthy deserves this if it’s what he wants because we all know his days are over here if it happens again.

Tired of Jerry wonder boys forced on the new coach. My limited sideline observations are that KM inspires the troops with about as much command as you’d think for a goofy looking backup QB who isn’t far removed from being everyone’s buddy.

Having said all that, you could definitely do worse, and he owes Jerry a lot for anointing him as ‘the one’ because he just had several years of hard knocks experience and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he goes on to success.

Since we haven’t seen McCarthy it’s hard to judge. Is it what he did in GB? Or is it something different. How much influence will Shot have?
One thing I do expect is more throwing on early downs which is a good thing. But you still need to stay balanced

I'd like to see the new offense with Mike McCarthy. It's a shame Jerry is on this 30-year plan to win a super bowl, but at least we know we're close  hell I paid off my house sooner then that;)it's a pity, we could have already seen it had Jerry not handcuffed Mike with Kellen. This is what happens when you hire a head coach but hire his offensive coordinator first and tell him it's best this way for terminology sake.

Let's hope Mike is as sick of those stick routes as we are.
Ironically we are closer than we have ever been in the last 30 years. A few players away. Some great young defensive players with a defense on the rise.

And some of you want to blow it all up and start over? Makes little sense.

Bro, four consecutive posts? Little nervous about how this is gonna go?

But I like your repetition, "McCarthy-Super Bowl". That kinda thing works in political ads.

We all know Mike was Green Bay's secret sauce.
Just responding to people. I hate misinformation, and the idea that McCarthy got fired because he suddenly forgot how to coach is misinformation. He didn't adjust well to Rodgers being injured and he didn't put enough focus on defense or the running game, but he was fired because Rodgers wasn't the same QB during those two seasons.

The fact that McCarthy got a team to multiple NFC Championship Games and to win a Super Bowl is the only reason that I wanted him here. But I didn't expect him to come in and basically say, we're not changing anything on offense. I wanted him to bring the offense that he'd been successful with (tweaked for our personnel, of course) and see if that improved our fortunes. Of course, there were questions like would it work without Rodgers at QB, but I felt it was better to find out than to keep doing what we had been doing.

The end result is we still don't know if it would be better than what we had been doing, but we've seen a repeat of what we had been doing not being ultimately good enough. I'm ready to give a system that resulted in a title a shot to change that.
