Which offensive line would you prefer - 2007 or 2014?

That year we had like how many pro bowlers across the team again?

I think it was the most in the league that year.

Oh yah and we were like 13-3?

Better o-line this year and I'd take today's Dez Bryant over 2007's TO also.

But what a difference that Demarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff could make then.

So in saying all of this.

Having a defense that could create pressure and get to the QB could get the ball back to the offense even with a suspect secondary.

That helped make the offense look better.

This year the offense is going to have to drive down the field and run the ball well to make the defense look better by keeping them fresh.

No comparison talent wise regarding the 2007 to 2014 lines even though we haven't went through the season yet.

2014. In 07 we had a solid line, but we built these guys on the OL this year top to bottom.

This year by a mile.

I think this group is a lot smarter and more athletic.

I wish this line had Kosier though.

I don't. I think it was just a very hard question to take seriously. Those players were veteran players. These are younger players. So pro bowl comparison doesn't mean anything to me. Smith is a pro bowler, Frederick and Martin will be once they make a name for themselves in the league.

There really isn't a comparison to me. That line was solid at best. It was never anywhere close to dominant. Those with a good memory will remember how we had to scheme our rushing yards through delays and draws. They couldn't get consistent push and were terrible in short yardage. Flozell and Gurode were in decline, Colombo was vastly overrated and Davis was an underachiever. Kosier was a solid player, nothing more.

The Cowboys haven't had a dominant offensive line since the mid 90's. They have a chance to be dominant this year, though I would say they still fall short of that as Doug Free is a JAG and I don't trust Leary to be capable of that high a level of play. But this group in 2014 is better than what they had in 2007.

There isn't a team in the league that has a trio of OL that I'd trade Smith, Frederick and Martin for.

As big and powerful as the 2007 line was, it's amazing how poor they were at converting short yardage.
