I honestly don’t think sacks are going to be a huge priority for Parker’s defense.
They weren’t in Philadelphia last year with Fangio. They’re a ‘nice to have’, but not a must have.
The Eagles were middle-of-the-pack in terms of sacks, with their sack leader having just 6.5 for the season.
But their secondary was #8 overall, and they allowed the 5th fewest points in the league.
Today’s best defenses are fundamentally sound, with players know their roles and assignments in all areas, rather than being overly reliant on any one player or group.
I think that’s what Parker is trying to build.
