I would have done. Maholmes for dak straight up.
Article out of Chicago sports area yesterday says he wants 20m a year average… ain’t no way for a off the line LB!Roquon Smith....but I would have traded LVE to make roster and cap space.
Hockerson! I’d put a lot of consideration into that one!Looking only at the actual trades that were made, which one(s) would you have pulled the trigger on?
No speculation on players who weren't traded because we have no idea what the asking price was. Just strictly the ones we know were completed, assuming Dallas would have had to pay the same price.
RoQuan wants 20M a year and to be the highest paid inside backer in the NFL.Roquon Smith....but I would have traded LVE to make roster and cap space.
End of day it would have just changed order in which they were cut.Should have cut Trysten Hill early in the season but kept John Ridgeway.
Yes, would have gave him most of it over 3 years while Parsons is still on his rookie contract.RoQuan wants 20M a year and to be the highest paid inside backer in the NFL.
You'd have given up a 2nd and paid him that?
appreciate the answer and fair enough.Yes, would have gave him most of it over 3 years while Parsons is still on his rookie contract.

PFF grades on plays made. Even though Ridgeway is graded at 38, he is best when used to occupy Olinemen and plug up the middle against the run. Plus, he's a rookie who is only going to get better with time, strength conditioning and experience. Trysten Hill was already in his 4th season, and he never was a run-plugging DT because he is too small. Cowboys would have been smart to cut Trysten Hill and instead keep John Ridgeway for development. Johnathan Hankins is only signed through the end of this season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent afterwards. That leaves the Cowboys with only Quinton Bohanna as the only true big DT on the team. Problem is he's very young, still inexperienced and only in his 2nd year with the team. Had the Cowboys found a way to keep Ridgeway, they would be looking much better next year with 2 young big DTs, instead of only 1. Too bad the Cowboys still don't take run stopping seriously which is what has hurt them in the playoffs.End of day it would have just changed order in which they were cut.
FWIW PFF considers 60 average play.
Hill has a 58 grade
Ridgeway a 38 grade.
Is Smith a free agent after this season?Roquan Smith if I had to choose one. I love the player but I wouldn’t want a huge contract for an off-ball LB, so I don’t know that I would have. The trade compensation was definitely doable for me though. I like Smith’s demeanor and locker room value as well.
Other than that…. Maybe Claypool but I think a 2nd was too much, so probably not. Also, I’ve heard that he can be a locker room issue. If that is true, then definitely not.
Yes and realistically you could get him for about 5 years and 100M.Is Smith a free agent after this season?
If so, that's a lot of draft capital for a half season rental.

Derrick Brown and sign OBJ as
Derrick Brown and sign OBJ as an FA.
Tired of the "what would you have done" question....this isn't just a "today" thing....this is YEARS of being either to cheap or too afraid to do ANYTHING of note in Free Agency. And it isn't our job to answer "what would you have done"....we aren't the Billionaire GM with a full staff of NFL experts...let them figure it the hell out!!!
