I was a fan for almost 50 years.
13 years of Jason Garrett and 8 years of Dak Prescott finished that off.
I'm not mad; I'm tired of the disrespect Jerry has shown the fans while he played the "grandfatherly owner"to his pet players and lived out his fantasies of being a mastermind in business and football.
If he doesn't care about the fans, why should the fans care about his team?
I used to love the Cowboys franchise, but what is there to love about the Cowboys now?
There are great players on every team; I still appreciate that.
But the Cowboys franchise is no longer great. It has become a circus that even Jerry readily admits he "knows how to keep them relevant." He knows how to hype, but he doesn't know how to win.
There's nothing about it that would make anyone want to love it.
And that has brought about the end of America's Team.
I think we all realize what our frikin owner has done to our franchise . And we are no longer a championship caliber franchise. Most of us locals never liked the Americas Team label and couldn’t care less if anyone outside of Texas viewing area were fans .

Most hopped on our wagon only because we were winning. And probably abandoned their local or regional team. It’s tough being a Diehard fan rooting your team when they suk. Ask those in Cleveland or Detroit waiting almost 60 years to see a SB. There’s no guarantees even without our dysfunctional ownership.

And I have no problem with fans who have walked away. I respect them for sticking to their guns . But they no longer have any interest in watching or discussing Cowboys Football full of vitriol and disgust. Which again is fine but their hatred and lack of interest or watching the games dilutes whatever thoughts they have towards discussing current events. They then become nothing more than a troll.

Locked for thread review.

Edit: Re-opened.

The thread topic is Jason Whitlock's comments about Dak Prescott.
The thread topic is not about Jason Whitlock.

Hopefully, the thread can continue with full participation. I am not confident it shall, but life is always full of surprises.

Or, those who go out of their way to disparage the team’s starting quarterback aren’t really fans of the team. The constant disparagement of Dak comes from those who hate the Cowboys. So any excuse to hate on the qb will do.
What gets me though is I don’t ever see most of them hating on our owner, coaching or any or other parts of our team.

It’s a one trick pony which reeks of trolling and or lack of overall analysis.

… Unfortunately there’s not enough Elite QB’s to go around to 32 teams . The rest have to build around a lesser QB. Which we have suked at as well. Ultimately our FO has to take responsibility for the entire mess this era.
The Cowboys suck at drafting QBs EXACTLY BECAUSE 90% of the time they are a NON-PARTICIPANT.

Like the man said, ‘you miss 100-percent of the shots YOU DON’T TAKE.’

And look at some of the prospects we were considering like Manziel and Lynch. And our last highest pick for a QB was Quincy. Lol

If not for Romo and Dak we would have been a bottom feeder instead of mediocre marginal playoff contender.

Which may or may not have helped us find a better QB:)

Please don't insult the NFL even by daring to compare these 2 QB arm/pocket talents, especially in football intelligence department.
Comparing Tony to Dak is a fantasy Dak lovers use for obvious reasons.

But you may be emphasizing a couple of non-events. They didn’t draft EITHER of those two.

Their last two ‘cornerstone’ QBs were a UDFA and a 4TH-rounder. I’d suggest the Cowboys have been, historically, kinda lucky at the position. Imagine if they actually threw some effort into finding their next QB.

I think you took out of context. Wasn’t comparing their abilities as I’d agree but I was drawing a cumulative assessment of their similar eras of disappointment and dysfunctional aspects of QB’s from our organization this era.

And the bigger point it could have been much worse with no guarantees of it being better with those draft picks we were looking at. Romo and Dak fell into our foolish owners hands which basically prevented us from being more of a bottom feeder team but it also potentially didn’t provide the opportunity to seek out greater QB’s . Kind of a catch 22.

Bottomline is I have little faith our leadership would have fared any better drafting more QB’s like Quincy and potential 1st rounders Manziel and Lynch.

It is what it is and we are what we are. Both QB’s were a product of our horrible organization which hasn’t been able to build a championship caliber team nor have a more Elite QB. But yes I’d rate Romo the better QB. But he wasn’t enough either .

I understand but those two were potential prospects our bozos in front office were considering.

And yes, I’d agree both Romo and Dak fell into their lap . But the point was those examples above could have been those better efforts. Lol
