Whitney Houston has died

I was rooting for her to overcome her demons, but we could all see the signs of her addiction. I am so saddened by this. I'm not surprised at the outcome, but I am in shock over her passing, if that makes sense. She was beautiful, glamorous and immensely talented. This breaks my heart. RIP Whitney.

I hate when someone dies all the sudden people love them again. Grrr... (not referring to anyone here at the Zone, of course)

/end rant

She had fame, wealth, talent, beauty....and none of it brought her peace.....

Clive Davis is who found her. His pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton is a yearly event. He cancelled tonight's party after hearing of the news.

There is a young girl who works at a local 5 Guys burger joint who does. When I go in there if she is working I literally can't take my eyes off of her.

I remember hearing this on the radio and being totally blown away by it. I had heard other singers, of course, but there was something so special about her.

I went to the music store and bought the sheet music for this song, because I loved it so much and wanted to be able to play it on the piano and sing it myself.

That whole album was a game changer for how I thought about singers.

Wow. I so adored Whitney since she got started. I'm shocked. We are losing the legends! First Etta James, now Whitney. :(

Id like to have some sympathy, and genuinely feel sorry for her, but I cant. I feel for the ones she left behind.

She shouldnt have been messing with that crap, plenty of people have overcome addiction, although it was only cigarettes, I overcame mine.

What a waste of talent, and a beautiful voice.

Bobby Brown killed Whitney long ago.
A lot of truth in this. She was nowhere close to the singer we all fell in love with once she hooked up with him. If anything she was a grim reminder of how much we lost.

How incredibly sad. She leaves behind an impressive body of work, grieving fans, friends and relatives and unfulfilled potential for more music. It would have been nice to hear a more mature, mellow Whitney Houston, but sadly, it was not to be.

I haven't heard as to the actual cause of death, but I won't speculate. I'll just think of what she contributed to music and avoid the nasty stuff today.
