I still cannot believe it.

It's on television and I keep reading articles on CNN and such.

But I still cannot believe it.

Wonder how many death threats Bobby Brown has received since this news broke.

I don't know but he performed last night and he is due in here Nashville tonight. New Edition WILL be there but no one knows for sure if Brown will be there.

An article I was reading about it said he broke down several times and at one point they played one of her songs at a break in the concert.

Their daughter was rushed to the hospital about an hour ago. She had a complete breakdown from what I read. She also got into it w/the police officers.

I'm guessing he'll be there w/her.

My gosh. That is just terrible. Poor girl. Feel really bad for her. She loved her mother very much it seems.

No one in their right mind can ignore the direction her life took and I don't put that all on Bobby. That was always in her. Bobby just said, "baby, it's ok." Because when it's all said and done. After their divorce, his life has been the more stable of the two. Trying to jumpstart his career again, engaged to another woman, and has a new baby.

But as I was telling my Dad, people mourn Whitney because of what her music meant to them when they were growing up. She represented all that was good in music in the 80s and early 90s.

People are sad for her family. People are sad because of how her life turned and the fact that she'll never get the chance to turn it around. That saddens me. So in my mind, she is gone too soon.

well said.

Word.

On other forums I am apart of people keep saying people die every day that respected their life more than she did.

This is a good rebuttal.

My dad was going pretty hard on her, as well. He wasn't unsympathetic, he was just saying her drug issues would've landed anyone else in jail and their children taken away.

And I'm just like, nobody's not paying attn to the average person who died the other day. A death is a death and regardless of how one perceives a drug addict or terminally ill patient, you can't prepare for it. Whitney's music impacted alot of people's lives. It's only natural to mourn her in some kinda way.

Well said. And very true. You mourn the ones you know and love, no matter what level you really know them on. No matter how they died.

I agree with you.

Her music brought happiness into lives of millions. There are some songs that perfectly reflect a certain feeling. I don't intend to sound hokey or corny here, but in my opinion, no song embodies sheer joy better than "I Wanna Dance with Somebody".

I'm very sad to see her go.

That video is where quite literally I fell in love with her. The playful spirit she showed, her incredible looks, and then her voice in it melded her into a dream woman in my mind. I think my favorite part of the video was the chain that dumped water on one of the dancers and her joyful little dance at the joke. I was hooked.

Remember the statement she made a few years ago that "Crack is whack?!"

Well sadly she let her vices and demons get to her. RIP, gone too soon IMHO! :(

"You Give Good Love" was my favorite Whitney Houston song. She was a model before she made hit records. She was stunningly beautiful and had the most amazing voice. I loved her music. But drugs ruined her voice. There is a video of her singing "***** Loves Me" Thursday night at a pre-Grammy party. She couldn't hit the notes anymore. :( She cancelled concert appearances and her behavior was very erratic in the days before her death. She went to rehab a few times, but addicts are prone to relapses. I read they didn't find any illegal drugs, just prescription drugs.

R.I.P. Whitney.

Sad to see her life end at such an early age. Bad thing is you could see this coming
