Nonsense.

Examples: A. Glenn gave up 2 TDs to Detroit's Roy Williams...in the 1st half.

Hence three of the four games, norman. Newman got his *** kicked in that game, too - it's not a good barometer of talent on our defense.

Who are you most glad to see gone from our defense? Answer the question, and cease with the agenda-driven hijack.

i don't wanna say i'm HAPPY that Parcells is gone but I certainly was able to live with it pretty quickly. I'm actually happy to see Zimmer go b/c he was running a scheme that obviously wasn't his thing. He'll do well in Atlanta. Rivera is the one player I'm the happiest to see go just because he was clearly the weak link on the OL. Teams would gameplan to blitz us up the middle almost every week and the good teams were successful. I know he was a proven leader but he's considered a bust in Dallas. I wanna see teams try and blitz us up the middle with Davis holding up the RG spot. Hopefully Kosier can add some strength and power to his frame b/c that seemed to be his weakness last year. Hopefully another good offseason in the strength and conditioning program will do the trick

It was tough for me to choose between Zim and Bledsoe, but I went ahead and chose the Sculpture. It's nice to have a QB who will actually move out of the way of defenders.

I picked Bledsoe, it was kind of a 2 for 1 deal, when he left he took all those annoying Bledsoe is God posters from this board with him.

Bledsoe was my pick too.

He seemed like a high character good guy, tough and with a strong arm. I liked most everything I ever heard him say to the media.

But the max protect scheme that was needed to protect him was too limiting to the offense. And ill-timed turnovers happened a little more often than they should have. He wasn't the right answer.

Easy: Mike Zimmer! I've been calling for him to be gone since he was the DB coach. How he lasted as long as he did is a mystery I'll probably never know the answer to.

Bill Parcells is 2nd. I like what he did for us from a personnel standpoint, as he left us in pretty good position talent wise, but his game-day coaching left an awful lot to be desired. His playing not to lose was killing us and I am glad he is gone.
Both darn good points and that is what ultimately lead to my coin flip. I completely agree with ya Thump.

As much as I like the guy, I gotta say I think the right guard position hurt us the most. Even though he's still a class act.

I really don't see the Zimmer thing. (and I wasn't sad to see him go) Wasn't he really just being puppeted by Parcells. I mean Parcells wouldn't let Zimmer do anything him didn't approve himself. Zimmer was kind of forced into the 3-4 scheme. I really think he's a decent 4-3 DC.

Zimmer, easily.

The only way Zimmer could possibly still be with the team in 2007 would be with Norv as HC, or Zimmer himself as HC.

Hmmm, you must not have been watching games prior to Parcells' arrival because our defense sucked then too.

lol @ 21 votes for Vanderjagt, and only 6 for Rivera.

So you're telling me a kicker that we cut midseason was a worse aspect of this team than a feeble RG we had to deal with all year?

Exactly.

We cut him midseason. Last year, we experienced life without Vanderjagt. We haven't experienced life without any of the other guys either. It seemed flawed to include Vanderjagt to begin with, IMO.

The poll simply states "Who are you happiest is gone form the 2006 team." There are no other stipulations involved. Vandershank was on the 2006 team, and he sucked.

I would actually like to see Rivera stay with the team...just not in a playing role. Perhaps in a coaching/mentoring role for the new guys like Free and Marten. It's an assumption to think he's capable of coaching, but his work ethic and effect on his teamates warrant giving him a shot, IMO.

I am not a Zimmer apologist. He was not the right fit here anymore, I agree, and I am not upset that he is gone. All I said is that he was decent.

" Zimmer joined the Cowboys' staff in 1994 and is the franchise's longest-tenured assistant coach. He directed a Cowboys defense which finished 10th in the league, allowing 300.9 yards per game. The defense finished 16th in 2004 after allowing 330.3 yards per game.

Zimmer also helped the Cowboys make a successful transition to the 3-4 defense for the first time in franchise history. He had never coached the scheme prior to this season.
In 2003, Zimmer coached a Cowboys defense to a No. 1 overall ranking."

to me this is a decent career as a cowboy, .....just my opinion.

Zimmer was the DC under Campo for 3 years before Parcells arrived and during those 3 years we sucked on defense. It looked good in terms of yards allowed but we put no pressure on the QB and forced very few turnovers. That has been true of our defense since Campo took over in 1995.

No doubt he sucked, I just thought that the person people would want gone would have been the person they deemed most responsible for our failings. Of the options listed, I'd have to go with Rivera.

I hate Canada.
