Who do you rest?

I tend to agree. You don't want to get guys hurt, but you cannot realistically play your playoff opener coming off a three-week break. Might as well start planning for the offseason if that's the approach.

If we sit players for both the Detroit and Philly game, they would have gone four weeks without playing in a game when we take the field for our first playoff game. Hell no!

This is NOT how Garrett will play it. He will play a full game next week and half of Philly.

But I would play scrubs this week and a full hard half at Philly, resting Lee and Mo and anyone for as much as possible.

I hope Lee doesn't play this week, nor Wilcox, Lawrence, maybe even Tyron?

I think it really depend on the injury situation. D Law for instance he is unable to even practice and missed last game. Cowboys have a chance to give some guys dealing with injuries a chance to get healthy instead of risking further injury. By and large if you can practice you can play

I have no issue with sitting injured players. However, resting players that are healthy is a recipe for disaster. Players play. They have to keep the edge.

Fully agree. Garrett needs to keep this team focused not get caught up in the hoop la. All Dallas has won is the NFC East and secured #1 seed but it means nothing if we go 1 and done. He needs to keep the team hungry and focused. You do it by keep the same routine going. Biggest benefit would be players nursing injuries

Having nothing to play for, that is... and yet, having to play anyway and risking new injuries.

Wish the NFL were more like MLB in this one point, at least: Inflate the roster limit by about 50% for the last month of the season.

This team needs to stay focused. Three weeks till a meaningful game is a long time. The Giants loss could in some ways be a curse if everyone doesn't stay on point.

We keep playing hard as usual with the exception of limiting Zeke's carries and resting players who have more serious injuries.

There's a reason why the NFL limits rosters. Too many players, and players can easily be hoarded or stashed away. This could be done for many reasons such as preventing your division rivals from getting players they need or manipulating the market to drive up costs of certain positions for other teams.

If anything, the league should let all 53 players on the roster be active at the end of the season and in the playoffs. Adding more roster spots by itself would be abused, exploited and a nightmare to deal with given the NFL salary cap.

I'd sit Sean Lee- he's the only guy, that if we lose, we're screwed on D.
put that boy in bubble wrap for a couple of weeks...

Add Tyron Smith to the List. He's been nicked up all year. He don't need the snaps.

(If the post above makes no sense, it's not just you, it's me too... and that's because it used to have a title preceding the comment which said something like It's a great problem to have, but I despise having it... and that's because it used to be a standalone thread... and that's because... actually, rather than a discussion about who we should rest, I was interested in talking about how maybe the NFL would be better to expand rosters this time of year. But I'm okay with that. Being a mod is thankless work for the most part, so yeah, it's all good.)

Tough call, but I think you rest anyone that is particulary banged up like Scandrick and I know Tyron has been limited in practice as well. I would also limit Zekes touches, with two backs in Mcfadden and Morris that can carry the load. The Eagles game I would rest nearly every starter, with the idea maybe you play them a quarter.
