I doubt he will retire before he reaches Jerry Rice record .

"Johnny Fontaine never gets that part.. ever...".....

uh I mean, "Terrell Owens never passes that record... ever"

Its out of reach.

TO will be with the Cowboys in 2009, book it. Offseason meeting where Jerry tells him to shut his big fat yapper is coming (along with quite a few others).

Once Jerry puts the clamps on that exceptionally large pie hole, the on-field contributions will be the only thing talking.

He really needs to do something.

"Hey I am paying alot of money to you mother flowers... how about you shut the heck up and give me a ROI"

And I wouldn't put it past Jerry. Not the doing of it, or the success that could follow.

If anything, he may just have to inform the mighty-TO of the mighty-Dallas Cowboys propaganda machine and the railroading such a ship could do. Unlike anything #81 ever witnessed in San Fran or Philly.

In fact, if I were TO, this is something I would be frightful of. I believe we could bury a player just as successfully as we propel them to new heights. And I also think if TO were to screw Jerry in any fashion, that Jerry would lower the wrecking ball on him, even at the expense of destroying this team for a few years just to do so.

That age old saying, which I think applies- "If you dance with the devil, you had best expect him to lead." And Jerry's "symphony of destruction", I'd just rather not have to see in this current roster's lifetime.

I honestly think it depends on how desperate a team is for a WR.

Lets look at the dynamics of the situation.

T.O. is old and on the decline. The guy has serious character problems and he is not going to be signed for a cheap price. If he gets cut by us that will be 3 teams that have let him go because of his character problems. Do you really think with all that in consideration into what his value is right now that a team will honestly sign him to a 2 or 3 year phat contract?

And how many teams signed Antonio Bryant who is not half the WR TO is, or Troy Williamson... Come on be real, as long as TO is in the league he will find a team easy and to think this was a bad year for him.....

If TO is on the decline I guess RW11 is to, crayton too, Barber too, Romo too. chalk this season up as a bad year period....................

Look at Moss who had Problems in Minn, then Oakland, then flourished in NE once again....I would not cut TO, I would grab a better OC who knows how to utilize talent and not an OC who is suppose to be a genius, lol..............Garrett may be smart but honestly , there not to many OC in the league from Princeton...............or players at that............

I have to disagree. Terrell Owens will automatically command attention from teams because he is a very good receiver, but the baggage which he drags with him limits the number of teams who would seek his services as a free agent.

31 teams aren't going to line up to sign him. That would be easy. 10-15 teams aren't going to line up for him either. That would be assumed for anyone with his talent level, but it's Terrell Owens. In my opinion, five teams at best would actively try to sign him, but it wouldn't surprise me that the "lucky" team wouldn't immediately snatch him up at the earliest opportunity either.

"Possible?" Yes. "Easy?" I don't think so.

:laugh2: Antonio Bryant is 27 and is signed to a veterans minimum contract. Cheap and the guy is 27. Why wouldn't teams take a chance on him? T.O. is old on the decline and with his agent(Drew) Will demand a lot of money. This guy is 35 and still has character problems. How you can compare Antonio Bryant and T.O. is laughable. And Moss has had problems but he is also been on his best behavior in Boston and the guy is going to turn 32 Feb.13 he still has years left in him. Terrell Owens will be 36 next season.

Again, does that mean every player on our offense is declining all at once?

Romo had a down year, Witten had a down year, Barber had a down year, Crayton had a down year.....but T.O. is the only one declining? no. We had a very bad year as an offense as was summed up when the Baltimore players said our offense was so simple that they knew what plays we were running before we ran them. A better offensive scheme and you will see the numbers for all those players go back up.

Owens will remain a Cowboy and continue putting up great numbers of over 1000 yards and double digit TD's.

Owens was getting jammed and he couldn't beat it. Last year he was getting jammed and he was beating them with ease. So how is that not a sign of him declining??? T.O. was a terrible route runner this year. His technique wasn't good at all this year.

Your argument that just because i say T.O. is declining i have to say everyone else declining is weak. News flash. Players do decline when they get old and reach the end of their career.

Owens' coverage last year to this year was very different. He was looking at a jam with safety help once or twice per game last year, he saw it virtually every down this year. When you face that coverage and still go over 1000 yards and double digit TD's having not had your QB for 3 games I'd say that's pretty dam,n good....I'm not seing the decline

T.O. was facing the same coverage as he was last year. And he was beating it. The only difference i see from last year to this year was the play calling. Some of it hindered Owens but also Owens decline in skill hindered as well. His route running was terrible this year and so was his technique to beat the jam. Everyone wants to make the excuse that T.O. had Brad Johnson for 3 games but the truth is he wasn't All-WORLD before Tony Romo got hurt. He is best used when running a slant and when we ran them he always dropped the ball when it was thrown at him. I remember he caused a INT in the second Commanders game. Owens is not the player he used to be. Owens is scared to go over the middle and he shys away from contact.

That's a good list, but I doubt that New Orleans would outbid any of the other four teams if all five were trying to secure his services.

I don't think that TO has done anything to anger Jerry and therefore think that if Jerry succumbs to pressure to release TO, he will do it very soon. He will not wait until the June bonus is due.

From reports, Jerry genuinely likes TO and will if Jerry's trend holds- he will give him as much time as possible to find another team.

Just my opinion....
