wow shocking coming from you.

All CL is saying is that he doesnt understand it. Nor do I. I know why the national guys do it, for attention and ratings. People dont care if you rag on tampa or jax for playing bad the last week but they sure do care if it is about Dallas.

It has nothing to do with needing them to be fair or whatever, all of us that are level headed and watch football as much as we do understand when there is a reason to complain or be worried. I dont believe this team is at the point that we need to be jumping off bridges or calling out all the players and coaches.

So it is odd to hear the local media just rip them for everything. Even norm hitzges has been doing since about halloween. the complaint from cl and guys like him, (me) is why act like there is nothing good about the team when that clearly isnt the case. And to then harp on this stupid fringe stuff and make big deals out of it are ridiculous....i.e. Jessica Simpson.

It's not my job to indulge his paranoia. No one is out to "get" this team. We're no lower than 4th in all those silly power rankings. Is the sky falling? I don't know that it is, and I don't know that it isn't. And neither do you. 13 wins? They're nice, and I will reflect fondly on them in the spring, but they may as well have been a million years ago. Nor will they make TO's ankle heal any faster. If you don't want to be mocked, then stop calling out fellow fans who refuse to conform to your skewed version of reality. Not that difficult.

I'm with ya Chocolate Lab! I have been very proud of the boys this year! There have been many , many high 5's going on around my house. Remember the Bills game? How many people turned that game off? I stayed with it and was on the edge of my seat for the last 2 mins of that game...all i can say is WOW! 2 back to back long field goals...outstanding!
I will Always support my team no matter what, and if a game goes bad..then it does, but I wont be putting them down. I'm in it for the long haul cause I'm a loyal fan and I have loved the cowboys since I was a child.

I can't beleive that we're 13-3 with HFA throughout the conference, had the best year in 10 years, and seemingly 90% of the vibe around this team is negative.

We're doomed because Ireland is gone.

We're doomed because we lost to the Skins in a game we didn't try to win.

We're doomed because we didn't win every game in December by 14 points.

We're doomed because we already know the next four years of drafts will suck.

We're doomed because Wade has never won a playoff game.

And on and on and on.

Meanwhile, the local media are, for the most part, killing this team. I'm listening to Galloway and Engel today, and Galloway insists we did have a December collapse just like last year and that Wade is a "big doofus". Hate is giggling away at Bill taking so many of our personnel and Jerry screwing things up. Both agree that if Wade doesn't win a playoff game, he should be and will be fired.

It's insanity. I'm no pollyanna, and have criticized the team plenty of times during bad or disappointing years. But this year has been great, and there still seems to be as much negativity as when we were 5-11 and fighting over Carter and Hutchinson.

Can anyone explain this? I truly don't understand it. If this is what it's like during a 13-3 year that exceeds all expectations, what's there to look forward to in a year that's merely good?

It pains me to no end to have to agree with you Lab, but I do. I would swear we are the worst team in the NFL the way some are typing.

As one of the "Negative" people on this site, I'd like to chime in my $0.02. I'm not worried we didn't win against the 'Skins as much as I am that we didn't even try! The bkups take home a check so why shouldn't they be asked to put out an effort?? Judging from some of the "Positive" people on this site, one could say I don't think I'll do any training runs or 10K's, I just get up one morning, catch fire, and run a marathon. It ain't going to happen!

It worries me that Wade Phillips doesn't see much value in building momentum going into the POs, such as he said in his Monday PC. I think it is fair to say that except for 2 miracle finishes (Buffalo and Detroit) we'd be 11-5, not 13-3. This record would not get us that bye he keeps talking about nor the HFA. And do you really think that a healthy Mark Bulger plus a healthy OL would not have picked our 2ndary apart? And maybe the reason that we keep having a "December Collapse" is because that as other teams keep improving we keep relying on luck and injuries to others to help us win. I think it is absurd the way the "Positives" mock and deride Joe Gibbs when he has won a SB w/ 3 DIFFERENT QBs!

And what's wrong w/ expecting the team to be motivated? The "Positives" like to talk about how the Colts didn't do well late last season and they won the SB. I'm thinking of how we could win the Division just by beating the Eagles and we couldn't get motivated to beat that pathetic (according to the "Positives") Jeff Garcia. I'm thinking if you can't get motivated to win the Division, you'll never get motivated to win the SB.

My problem is I think I'm a realist. In the 47 years I've been following the Cowboys I think if you can't win the ones you are supposed to, you won't win the ones you shouldn't win. It is true that how you finish is more important than how you start. And when you see things starting to slip away, it is cause for concern. If you don't want to have any "negative" comments about your team, open a site in which the rules state that: "No critical comments can be made here". Then you won't have to put up w/ guys such as we "Negatives"...

The thing is CalCB, you and others never said, oh if not for those fluke losses in 2005 at Seattle and to Washington, we would have been 11-5 instead of 9-7.

It cuts both ways.

This year we won those games so you cannot say, oh if we hadn't won we would be 11-5.

Don't let other people's negativity get you down. That's their own problem. Otherwise you'll turn out like the person who needs the pacifier more than you ever will.

CalCBfan, I guess you have those same concerns about Jax, Pitt, Tampa, Seattle, and all the other playoff teams that lost that their last game of the year, most to teams much worse than the Skins. Don't you think it's more than a coincidence that all those good teams lost on the same weekend?

I never said people shouldn't post what they want. If bb wants to ***** about every post he sees, fine by me. That's what ignore is for. But IMO, the overwhelming tone of things on most of the board is far more negative than what a 13-3 team should get. We didn't lose the last three in a row, did we?

And Dave... If you're 100% honest with yourself, if we'd had this exact same season under Parcells, would you be nitpicking as much?

Yes I would. The diference between me and a lot of others is the time line people expected from Parcells. People had false hopes that we would be in the SB in three or four years. I never expected that. I got what I expected of Parcells until Decembers.

That is exactly what has me nervous now. That and the fact that Phillips has zero good results in the playoffs. It very well could be attributed to him not being able to get teams prepared for the playoffs. I'm just not on the "meaningless game" band wagon. Wade did admit he and the team were uninspired, that aint good when the coach admits that.
