I'm sick of it, but that's what we generally get from Jerruh. :bang2:

I can't beleive that we're 13-3 with HFA throughout the conference, had the best year in 10 years, and seemingly 90% of the vibe around this team is negative.

We're doomed because Ireland is gone.

We're doomed because we lost to the Skins in a game we didn't try to win.

We're doomed because we didn't win every game in December by 14 points.

We're doomed because we already know the next four years of drafts will suck.

We're doomed because Wade has never won a playoff game.

And on and on and on.

Meanwhile, the local media are, for the most part, killing this team. I'm listening to Galloway and Engel today, and Galloway insists we did have a December collapse just like last year and that Wade is a "big doofus". Hate is giggling away at Bill taking so many of our personnel and Jerry screwing things up. Both agree that if Wade doesn't win a playoff game, he should be and will be fired.

It's insanity. I'm no pollyanna, and have criticized the team plenty of times during bad or disappointing years. But this year has been great, and there still seems to be as much negativity as when we were 5-11 and fighting over Carter and Hutchinson.

Can anyone explain this? I truly don't understand it. If this is what it's like during a 13-3 year that exceeds all expectations, what's there to look forward to in a year that's merely good?
I suspect several people will read the title of the thread, skip your post because they are offended and chime in.

I mind the negativity after wins. After a loss I sort of understand. I couldn't agree more about this year versus the last 10 years, but I'll also admit that I am greedy. I want more, and at the same time I don't expect more.

I don't see this team as on par with the 1992 and 93 teams. To me it's more like the 1991 team that was building towards those teams. That doesn't mean I'll be all right if we lose in the post season and fall short of my hopes and goals.

I try not to be too positive or too negative. I just want to enjoy the ride. This year I can't understand why people aren't enjoying the ride, but I guess some just need to either be miserable themselves or do what they can to make others around them miserable. I envy those who can use the ignore function. I scratch my head that so many don't. I can't, but believe me I would. When I planned to step down that was what I was looking forward to the most.

For me this year in order to drown out the whining I have had to dig deeper into the History of the Cowboys than I ever have. It was fun. A couple of days after the game I get back into posting again and can even stomach most of the negativity. Some of it is warranted. Some of it is just people who enjoy being a pain in the buns.

Like I said, after a win it bothers me. Not so much after a loss, but I have learned which threads to avoid unless I'm looking for a good scrap. The History research is the most fun. My own personal ignore function.

I'll drop by later to burp you.

Well, it's a trifle better than reading, "Woe is me! I'm the victim of censorship and oppression on a message board."

Glass houses.

Negativity is fine. It's occasionally warranted. However, seeking negativity in every action, word, and deed of the team is absolutely ridiculous. People who engage in such behavior are merely trying to protect themselves from disappointment.

well when they were a bad team i'd read every thread but now that they're good i read 1 of 3 because the rest are just whining about the team not being perfect.

The media (and many fans) have been so accustomed to losing and criticizing the team that they don't know what to do when they finally put a good product out on the field.

I was stat-checking earlier this week and when you take a look at some of the offenses we put out during Campo's years - Quincy Carter/Ryan Leaf/Chad Hutchinson etc. handing off to Troy Hambrick, with lead blocking by FB Robert Thomas, throwing to receivers such as Chris Brazzel, Jason Tucker and company - it's amazing we won even five games in some of those seasons.

I know that's the answer -- just stay away. But I enjoy talk radio and these boards, and have for years. I hate to give them up, especially when we're having such a great year.

And I won't quote it, but theebs -- I guess I don't expect the national guys to know what's what. I know Wilbon is superficial and Salisbury will say anything to pander to the audience he thinks is listening. But the locals? You don't have to cheerlead when the team is 8-8 -- no one would like that. But it's just as bad to try to convince everyone that this team/owner/coach sucks when the team is 13-3.

It's just as bad on this forum. The outright hatred for our Pro Bowl Strong safety on this board is far worse to read than anything Wilbon writes, Galloway slurs, Hansen studders out, or Jen Engel repeats from her husband.

you don't understand it? the team has collapsed in december for over a decade and lost what 7 in a row week 17 now? pathetic. meanwhile the skins without their best player and starting QB are 4-0 in december. we got humiliated at HOME vs philly

there are alot of questions, including Romo's game & thumb which without we have NO SHOT at winning anything.

it was a great season, but remember we were 12-1 and lost 2 of 3 playing rather poorly for almost two months now.

plus the homeristic articles don't sell as many newspapers or generate as much discussion (plus they're all used up from Sept-Nov).

ps - ireland's departure is a loss. we're not doomed (unless jj goes on egomaniac mode) but lets not pretend it's not a loss.

What I find comical about these Negative Zombies is that they all use the phrase "I am just being Objective" when describing themselves ......

They obviously do not understand what that word means since they do not see both sides of any issue ..... They only see bad things about the team.

Troy Aikman is "Objective" ...... most of the Clowns on here are just trying to see who can say "I told you so" first.
