We dont need a number one posession reciever, we need a number one game breaking type receiver. Other teams do not fear any of Dallas receviers. Thereby shrinking the field for opposing defenses and not creating appropriate spacing for the offense. Spencer has been a monumental disapointment. For a guy who is unblockable during practice, he is very blockable during games. A number one pass rusher needs to more than play the run.

roy williams is not a bust, he is a number 2 wr, now spencer i will agree with you, either spencer needs his rear end kicked some more in camp, or he isnt the player wade thought he was. Point in hand, on one particular play, spencer didnt go around the play, he attacked and filled the hole, why wasnt spencer doing that all along? Because spencer is lazy alittle and has to be pushed. Another play by spencer, the announcer on tv says it, on a particualar play, spencer looks lost and out of focus, he hestitates looks unsure on what to do when the defense is called.

that is lack of preparing folks, what did wade say, oh, i didnt want to get players hurt in training camp and preseason, so we basically played in our base defense. when we tried to blitz the first game, we werent ready, thats my fault for not having them ready on defensive packages. Way to go wade, just great as a head coach.

Wade you need to go back to school learning coaching, look at rex ryans defense, he is a new head coach and they are running multipible defensive packages, and the players are making the plays, why arent your players making the plays wade?

Aging Ellis is still a superior pass rusher to Spencer, maybe Spencer will get better, but so far he doesn't seem to have the push that Ellis had - which by the way, often forced QB's into Ware's grasp. Getting rid of Ellis for nothing was stupid.

Getting rid of TO was by far the dumbest move of the offseason. Miles, Crayton and Hurd scare NO ONE!!!!

Ellis is just more physical than spencer. Being taller and having the longer arms also is a plus. You need that when OT's have that long reach.

However, I think spencer can turn it around. James Harrison and Lamarr Woodley are similar in size to Spencer but play with more fire and intensity. Spencer will be fine.

TO wouldn't have changed a damn thing.

We were getting awful QB play. Absolutely awful. There is no way you can blame the receivers.
:hammer:

Wrs can't make up for terrible QB play. I guess Witten should have caught that ball off his heel.

Thats not true. TO should have caught those balls last year that were thrown behind him on slants just as much as the ones that hit him in the hands and dropped.

I miss the big play. Against a converted Tampa 2 D, Romo looked like Marino. Against a injured but better Giants D, Romo looked like... well.... Romo.

do we need a game breaker number 1?

tell me who is the steelers number 1 game breaker type? who?

Ward .. no

Holmes.. no

both would be 2's on almost any team.

they the team they beat in the superbowl the cards had 3 big time game breakers well atleast 2 of them at the WR position.

cowboys need players who make big plays at big moments.

If they dont fear our recvrs.....why then darn near 9 yds per run.....

if they dont fear our recvrs.....wouldnt they just bring 8 or 9 into the box and shut the run down pat?

...........
on a diff note......was K.Boss kept in all night for protection?......his production was kept to a minimum, would explain no sacks, but then why were just the 2 WR's able to operate at will.....where were the Cowboys S's?

To be honest if you watch the game closely, Spencer looked the best on defense. He just didn't get any sacks but he was a big reason the Giants couldn't run the game.

Sadly, I wanted both DeSean Jackson and then Mario Manningham. Jackson more for the return ability, and Manningham because of his crisp routes. However, I fully understand that Mario won't have another game like this until we head to the Meadowlands in Dec.

I thought Spencer played great against the run last night. And Roy was matched up with Webster a lot of the night whose a top 5 CB, so I wasn't expecting him to light it up. Look at Andre Johnson when he lined up against Revis he had 2 catches in week 1. Yesterday, he went wild and had a huge game.

This is why I said getting rid of Ellis was a huge mistake. Not only did we get worse at one pass-rushing spot, we made Ware worse in the process. He's going to have to work his tail off to get 10 sacks this year because there is no threat opposite him. Huge, huge miscalculation by Jerry Jones.

According to Jerryland no Wrs from that draft could make the roster... ppl forget Jerryland was holding out hope Terry Glenn could play and if not one of the 3 stooges would emerge... Then enter the Galloway trade!

Webster is NOT a top 5 cb. He is a good cb, but Roy just isn't that good.

Manningham won't have another game like that when we play them. Book it.
