Who Else looks at Miles Austin and Thinks...

How are you going to explain orlandos recent dominance over Cleveland. It's carried into the playiffs so don't give me that excuse.

Rashard Lewis overachieving and hitting his 3 pointers. Dwight Howard actually making FT's and having post moves. These factors will all run out and they will be handcuffed..Magic are a team that could go cold for 3-4 games at a time..Orlando went 7 games and played 3 days later. Cavs went 4 games and played 9 days later. This will be the game they heat back up.

I hope he doesn't explode that'd be a itch to clean up

You all couldnt match up with us in the regular season and for sure havent in the playoffs. Too big and too much for the Cavs. Z is too slow for Howard, Lewis and Turk are too much for little ol West or whoever you want to throw on them. Putting Lebron on Alston in game 1 was the most stupidest thing the Cavs could of done, that left Lewis and Turk with Mo Williams and David West to play around with.

But can someone please tell me *** this is? Triple Flop! Guess thats how they play ball in Cleveland.

HAHAHAHAHAHA that is hilarious. Good find.

Here is to LJ joining the knicks in 2010, noone gives a poop about Cleveland. It's what the NBA needs.

C'mon Larry Johnson isn't coming out of retirement and joining the Knicks. That's crazy!

I hope Austin plays very well and has a great season. He just needs to stay healthy imo. Also, it's very clear the NBA wants Lebron in the finals and are giving him all the help they can with all the BS whistles to give him FT's.

Austin will not be a Terry Glenn.

If TG had his knees, he'd still be in Dallas and I really think Dallas would have their playoff win and then some.

I'm not sure people realize how good he was. Speed, hands and excellent route running. TG was a monster.

Here's a prediction for Austin in 2009.

60 Receptions - 936 yards - 8 TD's - 16 catches of 20+ yards.

Some other WR had those numbers back in 1997 around the time he was 24 or 25 years old and coming into his own.

:)

35 catches, 425 yards, 3-4 TD's, 4+ Defensive PI calls of over 40 yards.

I love Miles as a player, but his transitional lateral ability is second only to the QE II. He's got super stiff hips which is going to keep him at a 3rd WR spot for his career.

We will be explosive as hell? i seriously think dude will explode...and become a terry Glenn type for us(attracting double teams, leaving Roy 1 on 1)

i know he hasnt proven to much, but i feel it, call me a homer, or say this isnt madden, but i think he will break out, and surprise a ton of us

I like Austin, he has really improved since he came here and I do think he'll win the starting job opp RW.

If he catches 30-40 passes and averages 17-22 yds a catch with 5-6 tds or so, he's a huge suscess IMO. Witten and RW will get the bulk of the opportunities, but guys like Bennett, Crayton, Barber and F Jones will also catch their share. I think if people expect Austin to catch 50-60 passes they are going to be sorely disappointed. 1) because of all the options we have and 2) because I think there will be more emphasis on the run game.

He won't do anything unless he and Romo get on the same page with the deep ball.

There were at least two sure TDs that Romo couldn't get to him (2nd Commanders game; Ravens game). If that squares itself away, we've got a solid 2nd receiver/deep threat.

I think Austin can do the job my only question with Austin is can he stay in the lineup and avoid injuries that continue to hold him back? I was a bit surprised to see some of the praise he got from Gil Brandt who thinks Austin can do the job.

He has an easy TD against the Giants in the playoff game too. We brought him in after McQuarters was gassed and he ran right by him, but the protection broke down and Romo couldn't get it there. I'm not worried about the speed, I just hope he can stay healthy.

If he's Terry Glenn (with size), I'll take that all day. That would make him a great complement to Roy.

Supposedly its the guy he wanted to pattern his game after.

With good reason. TG was the best WR Romo has been able to work with. Great route runner that could still get behind the defense late in his career. He was the last WR I've seen Romo 'trust'.

NextGenBoys;2787052 said:
I would absolutely love that.

That would be something else. Roy could take advantage IF Austin became a deep threate where the Safety was over the top at times.

NextGenBoys;2787052 said:
I just dont see the leaping ability or hands that Moss/Colston have.

I agree here. I hope he gets better with this technique or lack thereof. If he could get that extra step on DB's that would be great also. He would have to depend less on the leaping/hands in traffic etc

Terence Newman700;2787050 said:
i hear you, and you may be right, but i hope he turns out to be like a Randy Moss for us, or Colston, a big time WR, that the league will fear for time to come

I guess anyone would like that. We can all dream. Maybe if they are an A+ and A-.....maybe he can be the same version but a C or C+? :) If he's more than that, we should all be pumped....and he would be by far our #1 receiver.

You can't compare him to Glenn. She was a great receiver.
