Who Else looks at Miles Austin and Thinks...

I can't point to anything but a sinking feeling, but I don't see any way Miles has more than 500 yards and a couple TDs this year. Romo is the definition of a "rich get richer" QB. TO leaving just means Witten will have like 1500 yards and Roy will break the world land speed record after catching his 80th touchdown for 5,000 receiving yards.

We will be explosive as hell? i seriously think dude will explode...and become a terry Glenn type for us(attracting double teams, leaving Roy 1 on 1)

i know he hasnt proven to much, but i feel it, call me a homer, or say this isnt madden, but i think he will break out, and surprise a ton of us

I would be very happy if he is as productive as Alvin Harper. Terry Glen??? not a chance. too much beer over Memorial day?

Not sure I understand your point about Romo being a rich-get-richer QB. Prior to last year, he was known for reading the field quickly and spreading the ball around. He likes Austin, and Austin does what he's supposed to do on his routes, so I see no reason why they guy can't put up good numbers. I still like Hurd better, though.

i think he is going to be great.he will put up around 700 yards and 6-7 TDs .the coaches have to limit his exposure in the special teams though. He is also going to have some really glaring drops which hopefully wont hurt us too much.

I look at Miles and think He's our Number 1 reciever. Row Williams is a #2, a good second option. Get him some looks in the redzone and jump balls. Our offense will go as far as our running game takes us.

Has anyone heard if Romo has spend time throwing to Austin over the past few months like he has with Williams? Seems to me that if they want Austin to keep improving, working on his hands, and getting his timing down with Romo, this would be a good time to try and make that happen.

Of course, that might be exactly what's going on but not being reported because of all the interest in Williams.

35 catches, 425 yards, 3-4 TD's, 4+ Defensive PI calls of over 40 yards.

I love Miles as a player, but his transitional lateral ability is second only to the QE II. He's got super stiff hips which is going to keep him at a 3rd WR spot for his career.

If Roy gets 950 and 9 and Crayton gets 650 and 6 , Witten gets 1200 and 10, the RBs get 500 and 4 then I'd take this.

I love the premise that Miles will draw double coverage and leave Roy, Patrick and force teams to match up a LB on Witten with that single coverage , But, I really don't see that happening until Miles proves he can get separation, on a consistant basis.

He has the skills to do so, but there are two very important things he needs to work on, one being the consistency in his route running, and two, keeping himself healthy and on the field.
I love this guy, he has all the tools, the speed, and he's a smart football athlete.
Until he does those two things I mentioned well, he'll be a streaky player with potential .

He needs to run tighter routes.

Im not rooting for either. But Lebrons team is severly outmatched by these Magic.

Show me Austin can consistently beat the the jam and get open. Show me he won't disappear like he did the in the last three games of the season where he has a total of one catch for 23-yards.

The idea that this guy is now going to be something he hasn't been since getting into the league because of T.O. leaving or Jerry making a decree is absurd.

Show me the guy is a #2.

Don't tell me about Witten. or the two TE offense. or the three-headed running game.

Show me the guy has the skills to be a #2. I'll believe it then.

But the unbridled optimism that even had a poster on the4 first page say he will be Terry Glenn-like or the true #1 is homerism at its finest.

Ridiculous.

600 or 700 yards seems like the absolute cap for Miles Austin this coming year. I still haven't seen anything to suggest this guy has a full route tree down or that he will consistently catch the ball.

We will find out. I'm optimistic but I also know that Austin has to prove it and he has to stay healthy

Witten getting 1200-yards and more than your #1 receiver?

I miss the days when I could sit back on my off-time and smoke chronic and wonder why man hasn't invented a time machine yet.

I see a guy with the potential to be a solid #2 WR for this team.

When you consider the #2's we've had the last couple of years, I guess anything more than mediocre could be considered "explosive."

Potential...he's got the potential.

My only real concern with him is rather or not he can stay healthy. Thus far he's had issues with that. We need him to shake that if he's going to be a legit option for us.

I hope so, just to keep the defenses honest. If Austin can get 500, and RW get a 1000, we can go pretty far. Also dont forget about Hurd, I'd feel comfortable, with him starting as #2

I'd be fine to flip those Witten and RW numbers if it makes you feel about yourself.

Just for perspective. Witten had 1145 yrds in 2007. Last year, while playing hurt some, he still had 952..only 100 less than TO. It is not that farfetched to say he may have more yards that RW...so I'm not sure where your remark is coming from.

Also, at KC last season Gonzalas had more yards than Bowe...and both had > 1000 yards.

And by the way...this was a wish list, not a prediction.
