Who gets the final 2 WR spots?

Junior Adams is the Cowboys WR coach. Junior coached Holden at Oregon so he knows his game. Junior is a "sponsor" for Holden, as they say, from the current coaching staff.
I understand that just don’t think that makes him a lock. Hopefully he balls out!

Yes it's way too early, but in my opinion, the Cowboys will carry 6 WRs. The following 4 are locks to make the final 53:

CeeDee
Pickens
Mingo*
Traeshon Holden**

That leads to the following having fierce camp battles for 2 more spots:

Turpin
Tolbert

Fluornoy
Brooks

*Traded 2025 4th round draft pick to get Jonathan Mingo. I think WR3 is his job to lose.

**Junior Adams coached Holden at Oregon. He has talent and the inside track as WR4 in my opinion.

I say Turpin and Tolbert get the final 2 WR spots, with Fluornoy and Brooks going to the practice squad.

Agree or disagree?
Turpin has been paid and is the leagues best returner. He isn't going anywhere. Tolbert is wr3 until he is unseeded.
I'd say
Lamb
GP
Tolbert
MIngo
Turpin

Unless an upgrade for wr3 comes available after June 1.

1) Lamb
2) Pickens
3) Mingo
4) Turpin
5) Tolbert
6) Flournoy

Campbell would only have a chance as a punt returner as there is no other vet available that has PR experience.
Flouroy's chance will have to come this entire summer- camp & preseason. maybe 2nd season will slow down & be more adjusted.

Ther Cowboys are absolutely terrible when it comes to trading their players.

When was the last time the Cowboys traded a player and got correct trade value? Was Jimmy still HC?

The Cowboys are going to keep the healthy WRs and stash others away on IR or PUP or whatever the official designation is.

The answer to this question is always going to be the Cowboys will keep the guys that are still standing at the end of the preseason

That sponorship from a position coach will get him a slight edge on making the practice squad, no more.

I’d seriously doubt Holden has a snowballs chance of making the roster.
He’s a bottom of the practice squad player at best.

Turpin just signed a 3yr contract to if nothing else just be the punt returner for at least the next 2 seasons. Any other production is gravy!

If I had to guess it will come down to between Brooks and Flournoy with Flournoy having more upside and the ability to play both outside and slot.
Or Mingo and Brooks.
Again Mingo probably has more upside just based the investment in him and he did have 43 receptions as a rookie!

Lamb
Pickens
Tolbert
Turpin
Mingo
Flournoy

You gotta think Lamb, Pickens, Mingo, Tolbert and Turpin are locks. Last spot or two will be determined in preseason but I favor Flournoy. Brooks and Campbell have a chance but a small one.

Holden, at best, is a practice squad player. Our six will be Lamb, Pickens, Turpin, Mingo, Tolbert and Flournoy.

Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert, Mingo, Turpin are locks
I would toss in Flournoy /Brooks / Holden for the 6th spot. They all will play special teams and can take snaps at WR.

Brooks is likely the one who gets the final spot.

How can anybody see Mingo in front of Tolbert? Tolbert has seven touchdowns last season and 610 yards. Mingo has 585 yards and zero touchdowns together in three seasons. He has done nothing in this league so far. In my opinion Mingo is a cut candidate at the end of training camp.
It is possible. If he shows as little as he did after we acquired him, there would be no reason to keep him over the rest, especially now that we've made a bigger trade.

I think it would really depend on what players like Campbell, Brooks, Holden, Harmon, Kelly and Cropper show, though. There's nothing to say any of them will prove they should be kept instead.
