Who here believes Jerry wants to keep Jason?

Jerry would rather lose doing it his way than win doing it someone else's way. Bottom line.

If that means keeping Garrett, so be it.

Some people refuse to acknowledge that thinking it makes them a better fan. It doesn't. It just reduces your credibility to less than zero in any rational person's mind.

They are practically married.

Remember last offseason when Jerry did everything in his powers to make Jason quit and now it seems like he has fallen back in love with his pet. What is the deal here? Is Jerry really this crazy or should we not believe all this Garrett love from Jerry? Once again I can't make any sense of Jerry just as I can't make any sense of his comments where he seems to contradict himself almost every time.

I'd say yes. With some exceptions, Jerry is unusually loyal.

According to this article/video, Jerry was discussing the next season with Barry going into week 16 of the '97 season when Switzer told Jerry he better fire his butt. There was 100X the outcry for Barry's head during that season compared to Garrett. I remember looking at the dmn board and being afraid someone would actually do something crazy. That's how bad the fan reaction was. The team really was on the down slide and was playing offensive linemen from target that year due to injuries, but everyone thought they should have gone to the super bowl.

Wow. I didn't know that. So Jerry had to be pushed into firing Barry.

Bingo. Been that way most of the last 20 years.

And if by chance Jerry did fire Garrett, all he'd do is hire another HC to serve as one of the coordinators while not letting the HC hire the other coordinator. Jerry wants to push all the buttons doing it his way, and it's never worked doing it that way. But by golly, he'll just become more stubborn and determined to try and keep doing it the same failed way.

I'll take the faith of his players and staff over all of this.

So now faith wins ball games in the win now NFL? Got it. We will agree to disagree. But 3.5 years of no progress in a lousy division is a big enough sample size for me to replace this coach. And I used to be a huge supporter of Garrett. Was thrilled when he was hired.

That is news to me as well.

If he was torn on Switzer, who did have the team quit on him, you might as well start planning for a contract extension for Garrett.

So the claim that Sean Lee likes him more than Joe Paterno is not enough for you?

In what world does that even make sense? Is Sean Lee a 12-year old girl? Why would he even feel the need to say which coach he likes more? Does he like purple more than blue? Is he Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Just made belief stuff to drive an agenda.

At least that belief is based on what Jerry Jones' history actually is, not a romantic notion that we have the next Tom Landry in place.

He is loyal to his lapdogs and it takes a lot for him to move on if he does not have other motives, namely funding stadiums and getting people "off his ***".

And yet, there's a lot of support for Jason Garrett from a lot of rational public people.

I realize you just like to post when you think you can bait Hos, but it's pretty disingenuous to pretend the only reason JG has a job is because of Jerry's ego. Jason has an awful lot going for him.

this is why Garrett is here and will be here next year
he is a lap dog that can talk the talk with the media

And yet, there is. Although it's immediately discounted here as subterfuge as soon as it's posted.

maybe, "rational people" see who is posting it and look at it in its proper context?

not worth the internet air it was typed into?

just a guess

By all means, venture your guesses. I'm talking here about media reports from coaches and sports team owners and the like and not forum posts, though.
