Polamalu.

Roy was better by a mile at one point.

Troy is better by a mile now.

Polamalu isnt a very good tackler but he disrupts an offense as well as anyone.

Hes fun to watch too.

This post is RIGHT ON THE NOSE!!!!
:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I also agree with the guy who said B. Sanders is vastly overrated.

No the most over rated safety is Bob Sanders. He has played in only 59.4% of the games during his career. If you can't be on the field, you are not helping the team. He only has 4 career interceptions, 12 career passes defended and 2 career forced fumbles. He is a good player, but since John Madden goes ga-ga over him hitting a running back who is being held up by his teammates that means he is the best safety in the league.
It would be awesome if Roy W. comes back, suddenly our entire defense starts playing better and then Roy W. wins defensive player of the year for his mystical "Improve your entire defense by your presence" quality, even if he doesn't make any plays.

Stay tuned.

Troy is utilized much better than anyone we have on defense at any position. And he's probably a better player. I've not liked how Roy has been used since we moved to the 3-4.

Roy with out a doubt. But i do respect Troy P standing up and stating this week that the NFL is turning into a pansy sport with all these "uncesseasry ruffness fouls". Hes been fined 2-3 times by the leauge but they weren't pentalizes plays....And if the NFL all of a sudden cares about the players of today why not start with the players of the past?!

Some of you guys are not seeing the same Roy I see! Roy can't tackle worth a ???!!! He can hit good sometimes still, but can't do that very often. He can't cover. He's a liability. I just see him taking wrong angles, missing tackles, and getting left in the dust these days. Can't wait till the door hits him in the butt.

To be honest, and I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here, but if I didn't know that Roy was hurt, I probably wouldn't have noticed that he wasn't playing because when he was in the games, he wasn't making much of an impact.

Conversely, if someone told me that Roy Williams hasn't played all year and I didn't know any better, I would probably believe them. I was hoping that the old RW would return, but I have not seen it yet. So to answer the thread title, I would have to choose Troy. At least you know that he is actually in the game.

No offense to Roy 38 Williams but I'd take Polamalu in a heartbeat.

We would make Troy look average also with what we would do with him also.

There's no way I'd take Roy, but I don't think Troy is all he's cracked up to be. He's much more active than Roy, flying into the backfield and a better pass defender, but he gets burnt just as regularly as anyone.

Troy gets more attention because of his stupid hair than his game. The guy gets beat just as much as Roy does.

I don't think Roy Williams is in the same league as Polamalu. Maybe at one time, but not anymore. Offenses know where each player is. One because they fear his ability to disrupt, and the other so they can target him.

He does give up plays but he also makes a lot of big plays.

He always plays a 100 miles per hour.
