anyone that bought Madden over NFL 2k5 is just a tool, plain and simple.

and in turn, severely uninformed.

I bought Madden over 2k5 but I'm far from a tool. 2k5 isn't made for the pc and I'm not spending $400 to play on a console. If 2k5 had been made for the pc I would have considered it.

That game looks like ***. The only way it's worth the money is if the AI is a significant improvement over Madden, and they've found some way to eliminate glitching. Otherwise, the thing looks like a Madden game where all the players have been tossed on "The Rack" because they wouldn't accept Christ. It looks like garbage.

Like others have said, the lack of an off season and/or franchise mode makes it an instant non-buy for me.

And if you think that is "sad", or it makes me a "tool", you need to get over yourself.

Game Informers Review

Bottom line 8
Second opnion 7.5

Not going to post the image scan for legal purposes, but it's out there.

Basically the reviewers love the game, but the lack of a franchise mode and multiple seasons is the only thing that hurt the score.

They praise the graphics and state it has excellent gameplay and a must have for football video gaming fans.

They hope that next year they can somehow add more to the league and give the game a franchise mode connecting the game within an overall package.
even if it's not there best effort, this poster brings up a good point about supporting 2k so that they can continue to put out and improve upon this franchise, and finally give us fans a fun game again.

Even the game reviewers want a franchise mode and offseason

What a bunch of sad tools.

I got it this afternoon and have gotten a few games in, the gameplay is very, very tight. So far it seems to be a sim players dream. I just played someone online who was obviously a Madden player (roll to the right, throw the ball deep, repeat) and I murdered him by staying in the pocket and staying disciplined to the play that was called.

I forgot to mention my favorite part...the blocking. These linemen actually have a brain, they do the correct things on screen passes, a pulling guard almost always picks up the right guy, and double team blocks are oh so sweet.

My team so far is

Emmitt
Singletary
Cunningham
Renfro
Too Tall
Rob Moore
Rocket
Korey Stringer
Boselli
Leon Lett
and another CB who's name escapes me.

You never answered me as to what the point is with legendary players. Like I said, if you care about the prices of hotdogs and contract extensions, this is not your game.

The point of what? The offseason? Um, so the geriatrics can regain their health...

That was just one of the things I mentioned. Are there trades? Is there a schedule, or a champion crowned each season? There are only so many times my team of Montana, Emmitt and Rice can beat the snot out of your team of Elway, Sanders and Swann, before I get bored. There needs to be something new, things that can change from game to game. Keep it interesting.

And contracts are a pretty big part of football. Every thing that can be done to make the game more realistic, should be done IMO. I can do without the concessions and stuff, I don't even mess with that. But contracts and draft picks are pretty important things.

Obviously there are things that are appealing about this game, I never said otherwise. If the online play is good, that's even a bigger plus. But I'm sorry, without a franchise mode, it takes a hit.

I should be getting it in about a half hour. I'm waiting for my sister to come get me. I need a car.

The point of the game is to play with the best players in the prime of their careers, progression is meaningless.

If your a Madden player, I understand this line of thought, as the gameplay is routine and predictable, while the 2k games have a much more random nature than rolling to the right and throwing deep at your fastest player.

I'll plug up my old NES and play Temco Bowl if I want to do that. At least you can play for a championship.
