My new baby. A Nikon F-75 35mm SLR with a Tamron 28-80mm lens. It uses something called...film? ;)
Cant wait till this spring for road trips to the Hill Country and West Texas, maybe as far as Big Bend. So who else is a "snapper".
:)

I haven't seen a "real camera" in years. :D That's a nice Nikon. I own a 35mm Nikon as well and I think Nikons are one of the best if not the best for film photos. I bet you can't wait. ;)

I like photography a lot although its digital. We ought to make this a picture thread too. This is a couple of some recent ones I took.

Here's One from last Christmas at work. Canon XT (CGI) ;)

But nothing beats film.

If you like "old" cameras...Here's my old baby a Olympus OM-10. Still works like the day 30 something years ago when it was made. :)

You captured great indoor lighting in that pic-good job.

I'm not up on the technical side, but I love photography, especially black and white.

I used to spend hours upon hours in the darkroom. My camera of choice in the old days was a Canon A-1.

I have a Kodak digital camera that I'm still getting used to.

My Daughter is 16 and is getting into photography big time. We bought her a digital camera last year and she got hooked. She entered a coupe amateur contests and she has won a first place and two third place awards. She also got Photoshop Elements 7 and Premiere 7 for Christmas.

She wants to be a photographer and she loves doing landscapes and wildlife but also does some great portraits as well.

Do any of you have any advice for a teen starting out in this area?

Sounds like she's well on her way.

I'm "into it" a little bit. Very amateur stuff. I have a Rebel Xsi with a few different lenses. I'd love to be able to spend the time taking "artistic" photographs, but unfortunately the only time I get to is on vacations, gatherings, etc. And often then it's only on the fly, so I do the best I can. I've ventured past the "auto settings" on my camera and have come to realize how poorly the automatic exposure settings work. That's a fun experience when you finally "get it" in regards to exposure and can play around with it. I'll try to remember to post a couple photos later this evening.

Here is a couple that my daughter did that were on my PC. Neither of these were the ones she entered in the contest but she liked them...

Great pictures, keep the coming!

There is a place out in West Texas where every year hundreds of people gather to photograph the sky. It's like a festival of sorts. Does anyone know where and when it's held?

Awesome thread. Love that caterpillar shot Rowdy.
Film is great, I have a Minolta that I've picked up again, but I've been shooting with a digital Fuji/Nikon set up. I'll be picking up a D700 or a D3 soon enough.

Thank you. Great pics vta. First one has good lighting and the rain adds to the mood. Horse cooperated great for that centered shot.

Macro shots are tough but can at times be the most rewarding.

Thanks. Horses are easy, when they're not jumping. :)
