Who is returning punts

Uhhh..

Yeah.

So why is it we can'talk figure out a higher draft pick dedicated to kick duties might actually make STs special.?

The best guys I ever saw were Bobby Hayes and Deion.

They were gamechangers.

It's a mystery to me.

Why even bother to return them if we are not going to do something to ,make them count.?

Just stay on the sidelines and have some gatorade.

It does as much good as actually touching a football we can't or are not interested in advancing meaningfully.
Due to our GM not understanding the intracacies of football at the NFL level, we don't understand the skillset for returning. We tend to take a Dwayne Harris or Ryan Switzer type and think our problem is taken care of. Meanwhile, Phillip Lindsey was a UFA, and was a beast returning punts for DEN this year. Why in the world did we take Bo Scarborough? He was never going to make the team, and we needed a returner and a 3rd down RB who could make plays in the open field. This guy was made for that. And yes, I wanted him before the draft. Why'd we take an obvious pud in Scarborough anyway?

edit: I don't think Lindsey returned any punts. He was a 1,000 yd rusher.

It 's like my wet dream as a 12 year old that Rachel Welsh would wait for my voice to change and then she would marry me.

Right.

Here in Texas I believe it's referred to as..

MAKING A SILK PURSE OUT OF A SOWS EAR

Our GM specializes in it.

Using the word "obviously" when it comes to Jerry Jones & his Cowboys is going on a limb. What seems obvious to fans, is quite the opposite of what Jerry see's. I certainly wouldn't count Beas out of the picture just yet.

The Boys will need to decide whether or not to retain Austin, who is an unrestricted free agent. They paid Austin just $1,875,000 last year, a pittance for a return ace, even if he plays limited snaps at WR. If the two sides can come together on an agreement, and depending on whether or not Beas returns, Austin could see the bulk of the punt return work going forward, and might just turn out to be the spark plug they’ve been waiting for at punt returner. We certainly don't need "new blood" having Austin.
Austin to me a teaser sort of player.

When the Ram drafted him..

I thought he would set the league on fire.

Watching him disappear like he has with injury after injury...

has been less than encouraging.

I hope you are right.

I would prefer finding somebody who can play the kicks and not worry so much if he backs up any other position as it seems we always seem to require.

But it ain't my call.

Although the Rams definitely overdrafted him, I thought he'd be a beast as a speed WR and 3rd down guy, and returning. Maybe he can stay healthy if we don't use him very much?

Beasley seems to be burying himself with his latest rumored contract desires.

Obviously we will have to replace him as a WR.

I will miss him.

But whatever.

But punt returns needs new blood now.

I was growing weary anyway of him fair catching everything or letting it roll into the endzone.

Wasted opportunities.

Who do we have who will inherit his ST jobs?

And don't we need some pop on the KO returns, too?

I mean why is it we never have anybody who can do something there.?

With 6-8 PRs a game..

and 5-6 KO returns a game..

That's like 15 offensive plays a game where we do nothing.

Solutions?
I forgot you can actually return kicks from watching Beasley. I started to assume you can only fair catch it

Exactly.

The NFL is trying to eliminate KOs ompletely anyway.

If they move the kick off yard line anymore..

they will just meet at the center of the field and play Paper Scissors Rock to see who gets the ball.

It's weird anymore.

Holding and clipping penalties are called on 80 percent of the plays.

It's just an excuse anymore to go to a commercial break.

The punt return is pretty much going away too. I really don't care. If my functional slot can field a punt, great.
