Who is the better quarterback: Eli Manning or Tony Romo?

Who would I choose ?? Tony in a heart beat. But who is the better qb ? You'd have to go with Eli. He really proved he is elite this past season. That team was not that good and he had how many come from behind victories ? Didn't he break the recOrd for most comebacks in the same year?

I still would take tony over any qb. I think tony finally has a great team around him and can finally make it over the hump

I am the biggest Romo fan their is. At this point however, you have to be a big time homer to say Romo over Eli. I hate to say it but Eli was a stud for the giants this year, he set a record for 4th quater comebacks. The pounding he took against the niners and the way he kept getting back up was the stuff that makes legends.
I love Romo and realize he is not our proplem but to rank him over Eli at this point is lunacy. At some point a qb has to step up and win in the post season (oline, coaching, secondary) excuses aside. Dallas could have had Eli instead of Romo the last 4 or 5 seasons and I really don't think Big D would have had anymore more success. But you have to go with the man with playoffs victories on the road and the rings.

But isn't that what Romo has had? The Cowboys were 7th in the league in sacks last year, 3rd in 2007, and they have arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL. Plus, they had 13 Pro Bowlers in 2007 while the Giants only had 1.

What Dallas has not had is Playoff caliber defense in the playoffs.

In all three of Eli's playoff losses the Giants defense allowed more than 20 points. In all 8 of Eli's wins the defense has allowed 20 points or less. In this years Super Bowl run the NY D held Ryan to 0 points, Rodgers to 20 points (7 of those in garbage time), Smith to 17 points, and Brady to 17 points. That is impressive.

Not trying to take anything away from Eli but to act like Dallas D has ever supported Romo like that in the playoffs is foolish at best.

It takes a team effort to win and Eli certainly did his part but the defense did their part in a big way too.

No, he didn't.

He almost threw for 5,000 yards and 30 TDs AND won a Super Bowl. To add to that he now has two Super Bowl MVP trophies.

Any QB with a resume like that is elite in my book.

If that was Romo you'd be propping the hell out of him. But since it's Eli you have to dismiss the accomplishment.

Take off the blue and silver shades and give the man his props.

I've watched every game that Romo has played and most of Eli's games (I live in NJ). Romo is definitely better. He's more accurate, has a quicker release, has a better TD:INT ratio, he's more elusive, etc. They both are clutch and the stats support that. There is a reason why Romo is the 2nd highest rated QB in NFL HISTORY. That doesn't happen by accident. He has done that without a consistent running game and offensive line too. Despite the perception (which is NOT reality), Eli makes many more ill-advised throws than Romo. There's a reason that he has led the entire NFL in turnovers at least twice. Romo's stats are significantly better. Eli's only advantage is his TEAM'S accomplishments. Numerous lucky breaks (Crayton and Fasano's drops, Tyree's fluke catch of a moronic pass, Pats dropping multiple picks, Kyle Williams' generosity, Welker's drop, etc.) and a defense that played extremely well is why the guy has rings. Terry Bradshaw has 4 rings and Marino has none. Bradshaw was not better than Marino. It's a team game and SBs are team accomplishments. I've watched football for almost 40 years and there is NO DOUBT in my mind that Romo is clearly a better QB than Eli.

You can't definitively say that a Romo led Giants team wins 2 or 3 Super Bowls but I will say that Romo would have more playoff wins under his belt than he currently does.

The Giants are a better run organization. If you are smart you won't argue against that fact. The 3 Super Bowl appearances with 2 wins over the past 12 years speaks for itself.
