Bradie James

Gee. Guy who worked hard and was exploited because the team couldn't find s nickel lb to cover out of the backfieled. If you hate someone because he was used in situations that didnt fit him, then you just don't get it

Julius Jones just for the reason of trading back with Steven Jackson on the clock to get this guy.

Shante Carver.

He was the first post-Jimmy draft pick and a sign of horrible things to come for the next 18 years.

Also, we traded up with the 49ers to get him. Their war room busted up laughing once they saw Carver was the pick. They had a 4th round grade on him.

23rd pick and ended up 11.5 career sacks in 4 years.

You may not remember it, but I certainly do...Dallas was in position to at least get a field goal (Septien was a pretty solid kicker) and take a 17-14 lead, and equally important, take time off the game clock...Now, I won't tell you the Steelers would not have took the ensuing kickoff and scored, but it would have most certainly have been more difficult for them...However, a Dallas TD there instead of a turnover alters the outcome of the game dramatically by making the game a tie at 21 going into the 3rd quarter and the impact of Smith's drop is reduced...Still, Jackie's drop is unacceptable in my book just as Randy's fumble is...

Taking time off the clock only becomes a priority in the 4th quarter trying to protect a lead. The Cowboys were facing a great Steelers offense and had to focus on scoring points in the 2nd quarter not taking time off the clock. Although Staubach's int lead to a 21-14 deficit at halftime the Cowboys were only one score down with the entire second half to play. Things didn't go perfect for the Steelers in the first half. In the 2nd quarter Bradshaw got strip sacked and Mike Hegman took the fumble for a TD giving the Cowboys a 14-7 lead. First half mistakes can be overcome when you have an entire half of football to play. The Cowboys were in a position to tie the game 21 all with just under 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter but Jackie Smith's drop of a sure TD in the end zone forced the Cowboys to have to settle for a FG. The Cowboys suffered through a series of bad breaks in the 2nd half starting with Smith's drop that they weren't able to overcome. The game was lost in the final 18 minutes.

In my opinion the most damaging play was the bogus PI call on Benny Barnes with just over 8 minutes left in the game. With the Steelers up by 4 points the Cowboys stopped them on 3rd down and the PI call gave the Steelers a fresh set of downs. The call completely deflated the Cowboys because on the next play Franco Harris busted up the middle for a TD. On the ensuing kickoff the ball comes to Randy White of all people who had his wrist and hand tapped up and he fumbled. Bradshaw immediately went for the kill shot hitting Swann in the end zone for a TD giving the Steelers a commanding 35-17 lead with just under 7 minutes to play. If it hadn't been for Staubach's great comeback ability SB XIII would have ended in a blowout.

IMO, he was the leader of the "we're entitled" group that developed while Wade was the Head Coach. I base this on observations from training camp and from a weekly local evening radio show that he was on.

It reminds me of back during the 95 Super Bowl, a media person asked Deion why they were taking Limos to the Super Bowl. His answer "because we stars". That was perfectly OK for a guy actually going to his 2nd Super Bowl in a row and being a Super Star player; however, there was a group of players under Wade Phillips that had that same attitude, but they had zero skins on the wall and most were just average NFL players.

Hmmm, don't see many entitled players with their own charities

Keith Davis was a monster on special teams though. He was never starting caliber safety.

Off-field character is different than locker room and on-field character. I know that he was a big supporter of breast cancer awareness and research because IIRC his mother died from it.

I don't really dislike the guy per se, but the Cowboys locker room was a bad atmosphere under Wade Phillips. It started with TO and was then proliferated by other players. I believe that Bradie James was one of the players that proliferated the bad atmosphere in the locker room.

It's probably a waste of time to discuss because it can't be proven either way. I just know that I attended all of the training camps during that time and listen to a lot of local sport talk radio where many players from that time-frame had their own shows or were guest on other players radio shows. It's not difficult to get a sense of their attitudes.

Is it possible for Romo to be both one of my favorite and least favorite Cowboys of all time?

I don't get all the hate for TO. He caught 38 TD passes in 3 seasons as a Cowboy. He's far and away the best player Tony Romo has gotten to play with and a big part of why we were able to go 13-3 in 2007. Romo was able to be Romo because of TO...love him or hate him, he was a great player for us.
