Maybe he has some bodily disorder or maybe he just doesn't wash very well of often enough. I don't think I've ever heard of someone being stank because of the food they eat. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just never heard of it.

Edit: Just saw your article above. But I still don't think his body order has anything to do with sushi or raw fish.

Eat Indian food for a few days. I promise you that you will start stinking a little more. :D

Indian food is amazing by the way, incase you haven't had it before.

There is no way sushi gives anyone bad body odor. I don't think I've ever had sushi with garlic. I'm Italian and I smell pretty good. I eat garlic just about everyday, tons of it.

I've never eaten sushi so I wouldn't know but it was something that was very prevalent in this guys diet along with Chinese food. It was probably the Chinese food because the garlic odor that emitted from his pores would hit you like a ton of bricks.

Well it's def not sushi. Prob Chinese cuisine which has a variety of funky flavors outside of garlic. Might not have been garlic either. You're def right about it being something in his diet though.

True, but beef, poultry, and pork contain dioxins which is a highly toxic chemical contaminate and is probably more harmful to you than mercury. Either way, there's bad stuff in a lot of food that we eat.

i'm probably going to be laughed at for saying this, but i have never had sushi.

I haven't either, but I HATE seafood. I haven't tried crab or lobster either. I refuse.

Then it must have been the Chinese food or he saturates his body in garlic. We've all smelled that odor whether it's someone at the gym or someone standing in line at the grocery store. It's an awful smell that can literally turn your stomach.

:laugh2:

My friend had a roommate who cooked with Curry all the time. The entire dorm hallway would smell like him sometimes.

...is a problem in the world's waterways and bodies. It's especially bad in the larger species of fish where the element can congregate in larger amounts.

Ex. Tuna.

But as another poster has said this is a real problem purely manmade tht is not only in seafood, but possibly even worse in our poultry, pork and beef industry.

Coming from a farming family you would be shocked to see what is done to animals to get them to "market" weight.

...subcontinent is particularly bad for that.

In learning how to cook Indian I foudn the real culprit for the lingering odour is the fact that so much oil is used in cooking that style of cuisine.

The oil makes the smell stick in a film to your walls, your clothes and I believe in your body as it breaks down slower in the digestive system.

This is not to minimize the pungent an strong flavours typical of Indian food in general.

I like a good curry every so often. After cooking it we give the stove and kitchen a good wiping down and I toss my clothes straight into the washing machine that evening.

One can only imagine what it is like if you eat that way 24/7/365.

...it to a point of excess.

My family eats alot of garlic.

My wife's side of the family, which happens to German from the Eastern European side, eats a dish called Garlic buns and I don't notice a bad body odour.

I can definitely smell it on their breathe, but not on their body.

It must a specific dish or a unique cooking style or possibly even a internal body thing going on that he has such bad B.O. He would n't be the first person to suffer from that.

Oh man are you missing out. No crab, no lobster? A small tenderloin, with lobster tail and butter is the ultimate summer dinner. :)

Any raw oyster fans? I can tear up a platter of those, couple drops of lemon juice and tabasco, yum.

Yes, nothing like a plate of ice cold gulf of mexico oysters and a bucket of beers overlooking the water somewhere.

The only national seafood I don't like is calamari, rest is fair game.

Yeah I love the raw bars. Clams and oysters, with a dash of hot sauce = excellence. Man this thread has me thinking. I'm glad I live on the coast. :)

We had an exchange student my freshman year in high school from Pakistan named Reggie his body odor was legendary. He farted on a bus during a field trip and 2 kids started throwing up and one passed and had to be resuscitated. The bus driver had to pull over and let everyone out to air out the bus.

you'd have to eat massive amounts to build up enough mercury to cause any sort of health effect.

Also, you ever hear of cholesterol?

...Especially with the juice of the oyster and a squeeze of lemon. Haven't tried the hot sauce yet. Really like the salty taste of the juice/seawater.

So do you let it slide down the gullet or chew?

I started out with the slide, but moved over to the chew. It grosses out my wife.
