Who many years do we go without a playoff win?

From the looks of things [and the way folks are talking], 14 seems inevitable. :laugh2: How many do you think the number gets to total? 20 odd? If this core group doesn't get it done, that seems like a distinct possibility.

This is the year. If we can just put all the talent together in a consistent package, then this is the year.

Well we went 5-11 three out of four years...then 9-7 three out of four years...don't know if we go up or down over the next four. One thing is certain the team needs to get younger and to managements credit they have taken a few good steps this off-season.

In the late 80's, 90's, and today - the cowboys had est. 15 players over 30 and many of them starters. Contrast that with teams who are consistently playing at a high level (Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, etc) who are among the youngest teams...who use vets, but not always as starters.

In each case the point is that the team had gotten old and was not able to compete. And in each case had to rebuild. The question will remain for this year, can we compete or will we have to rebuild before making the run for the championship.

(Note: The younger the team the better our odds of making a run for the championship....average overall age of team needs to be 3 years younger than it is today).

How can you look at this team, with as much talent as we have and before the draft even takes place, and think it's inevitable that we won't win a playoff game? Are we *ever* going to decide as a fanbase to get over being disappointed with how last season ended and appreciate what we've got again?

I can't remember the last time we've had this much talent, an elite QB, elite players on both sides of the ball. We're inaugurating the best new stadium in the league in a few months, and you guys come in with all the enthusiasm of a wet fart. Knock it off already. Seriously.

Thank you, Captain Negative...

Seriously, what purpose does this thread serve, other than to provide yet another place to have a b****fest??

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it takes a special kind of stupid to go predicting the outcome of PLAYOFF GAMES, before we even know who's gonna be on the freakin' team... how 'bout you wait and see who actually makes the team before we go forecasting disaster, hoss??

He's one of the most negative posters in this forum, I dont remember a single positive thing he has EVER wrote.

I suspect he might not even be a fan of the team and is really just a troll.

We had just as much, if not more talent over the last 2 years and couldn't get it done. What makes you think that this coach can win a playoff game with any team?

I would like to think we are shooting for more than just a playoff win. I doubt anyone is going to be happy making the playoffs and winning 1 then done. My expectation is the NFC Championship anything less will be a disappointment in my eyes.

So true, that's why the draft is so important every year. Good drafting, makes your team younger, stronger and more competitive at every position. There's no time to sit and count your money, when a rookie is breathing down your neck every day.

I don't know about you, but I enjoyed the hell our of '07. Personally, I think Wade's a very good coach and I don't give a lick of credibility to fans' opinions of him. Those opinions are formed from watching his press conferences. That's a ridiculous basis for evaluating a coach.

If you pay attention to anyone who ever played for him or coached for him, they all agree that he's a very talented guy. We're talking about a playoff win here, and not a Superbowl.

I'm hoping this is the year. But realistically I have no idea how far out there that could get before we get one. Hopefully this year though just so it's over and done with.

Something Wade has never accomplished. He squanders talent on a grand scale. His teams always deteriorate because he can't control them. He was done as a head coach 10 years ago, the only reason that he's coaching now is that Jerry wanted a patsy to hold the title while his boy in waiting was being groomed. He will never have another NFL head coaching position again after his laughable performance here. The players were on autopilot in the beginning of the 2007 season and crashed and burned when they needed some real leadership at the end of the season.
