I say give him carries, not really in favor of running any back into the ground because I think it drags down their performance late in the season. But I wouldn't be babying him to make sure he doesn't get hurt either, it's a contact sport and he's got to get out there and play like everyone else.

Right. I don't want to overwork McFadden if it means we won't have him late in the season.

A lot of people were complaining about the running game, but I thought Randle, Dunbar and McFadden all did a fine job.

That said, Michael has another gear and ceiling that none of the other three have.

I could see Michael getting some burn with Dez out as an extra weapon, or I could see him riding the pine the entire season. I can't decide. What do you guys think?

I honestly thought from the moment they brought him in that if he excels and earns carries, McFadden is gone. I still feel that way. I think that is his spot, if he earns one.

I had high hopes for Randle last night and he was just OK. McFadden looked like he was shot out of a cannon!!! More touches for him PLEASE. I believe Michael can be a feature back if given a legit chance. Did Green Bay give up on Rogers after his third year on the bench? When you have a hall of famer in front of you life sucks.

Shot out of a cannon right to the sideline. He has no vision. He either ran into someone's back or to the sideline. He had no patience and no vision. The very reason the Raiders let him walk. It's like you guys don't even watch the games sometimes. He was atrocious. That's why he didn't get more touches.

I think we will activate 4 rbs. With Dunbar filling more in the wr role. Inactive 7 will likely be Dez, Gregory, CBrown, Swaim, Coleman, Bishop, Leary (if he is still injured),

Let's say Leary is healthy, who is inactive? Collins?

After watching Randle get most of the carries last night I am not even sure I know what McFaddens spot is.
I think most people are a little unsure of why Randle got the bulk of the carries while McFadden stood and watched.
It almost appeared that we wanted someone to get over 100 yards to shut up all the Murray critics...I know it's not true though.

I think he is the best running back on our team. It's only a matter of time before Mcfadden gets hurt or we realize Joe isn't the answer at starter. When that happens.. Michael will get his chance and I think he will be solid.

Michael washed out in Seattle. McFadden washed out in Oakland. I'm very leery of players who don't produce over multiple years. McFadden may have looked great, but he had all of one run longer than 3 yards (his first). Michael hasn't even suited up and people think this guy that we got for nothing is the best RB on the team. I really don't get it. I'll wait for the production to show up, thanks.

Most people need to go back and watch McFadden then. Anyone complaining about Randle and asking for McFadden needs a lesson in good running backs. He looked awful. The coaches left him watching for a reason.

Then again, as usual, I am sure the armchair coaches around here know more than the guys getting paid...

You're not alone. I promise. The grass is always greener for some people. I for one was done with McFadden after the second time he refuse to turn his shoulders and cut and instead ran out of bounds. Then again, that's why Oakland got sick of him too.

I don't think you are that unique. Everyone is waiting for production to show up...the problem is our choices all have some warts. If you are looking for proven production you are looking in the wrong place.
So people become interested in potential. The unknown can often look better than the proven bad.

He's not getting active until he ears A job. Until then he sits on the inactive roster, which makes it tough to earn THE job.

He has practice to show he knows the protections and the plays. RB in this system is not an OJT position.

Christine Michael is just another draft bust until proven otherwise.

Seattle was prepared to release their 2013 second round selection and traded him within the conference to a potential Super Bowl contender they lost to last season.

The Seahawks obviously don't think Michael will amount to anything.

Maybe they're right and Michael gets churned in quick order the same as OT Jordan Mills.

Or maybe the change in scenery helps the light come on the young runner and he works his way into the committee as the season progresses.

Obviously, it'll be great for us if Michael becomes a player this season.

I'm optimistic by nature, but I'm not buying yet.

Agreed. Think of it in these terms...

What's wrong with this picture? Seattle releases Durbib, setting up Michael to be the new #2 behind Lynch. Rather than move him up the depth chart, however, they decide to go with a 34-year old, AND an undrafted rookie free agent instead, opting to trade a 2nd-ROUNDER for a conditional 7th. That doesn't inspire any confidence in Michael's ability in my mind.

So, is Seattle colossally stupid, or might they be on to something?

CM needs to be activated very soon if the running game is destined to get the power back it now lacks. Right now, Randle appears to be the one who "leaves too much meat on the bone." Whether the staff is likely to activate CM now or not is questionable. Maybe they're waiting to see some indication that his pass blocking will be consistent enough to keep Romo healthy. I hope he's able to convince the staff he can handle it soon, before it's too late.
