Who told me that the Eagles would be fine?

Frankly I don't give a damn about the past 20 years, hell I don't care about last year. I do however care about this team and this year. 20 Years ago has nothing to do with these players and this coaching staff. You take garbage outside of this team control and dump in on them? lol Playoffs are tough for every team out there. You assume we will lose, fine you can feel however you choose but frankly it is being a lousy fan to sit there and claim we will lose based on past games. No doubt this team has to go out and play great ball in these playoffs but there is nothing predetermined of the outcomes.

I assume nothing. I am in "see it to believe it" phase with this franchise anymore when it comes to the postseason. I have no real expectations about what they will do in January but they also don't get any benefit of the doubt from me either.

The point here is many fans are just tired of all these great regular seasons then followed by an implosion in January. Hence why when some of you are waxing on about what a great season this has been, they roll their eyes. We've seen this before only to have them disappoint literally every postseason they have participated in since the mid 90s.

Teams are ultimately defined by what they do in January and February. Not what they do from Sept to Dec.

You forgot the Colts beat the chiefs. Wasn't it the titans that took the chiefs to overtime?

I understand all this, my concern is how we're trending lately. Teams change throughout the year. The Colts would lose by 30 points of they played the chiefs this week. I'm not sure if we're just playing down to our opponent, or we're just not that much better.
The Tennessee game was weird but lets not forget. They played 3 games in 12 days.

So basically a fair weather fan, I will support you are long as you win. As a fan I want nothing more than to win, however I also understand how hard it is to get to the SB, I don't dwell on the past which is outside the control of these players or these coaches. All they can do as a team now it to go out and play their best and as a fan all I can do is cheer this team on. Fact is it has been a very good reg season and the hope it to take it the rest of the way, same with ever team who will be in post season. This team has been able to accomplish something they have not been able to do since 1996 and that is put back to back winning season together.

Awww this is the hypocrisy that my fellow fan base brings that drives some of us nuts.

Inside a thread about the eagles sucking we break out an excuse about 3 games in 12 days.... but yet no mention about the eGirls playing 3 road trips with the one against us being on short rest to end that said trip? But soon as we squeak one out its "Eagles blow Cowboys winning Superbowl".

I would love for that to happen, but hard to do that when you turn the ball over constantly. We are a fan base who needs to look in the mirror.

I am talking about the Cowboys not the Eagles. In reference to another poster.

Fair weather fan? LOL.

I am here posting almost every day during the season. I want to win too. I just no longer assume it's going to happen. I no longer have the expectations that this team is gonna go on a run in January. There's our difference. I watch with no expectations come January. You think this team is going on a run.

They might. They might not. I have no idea and make no assumptions either will happen because at the end of the day, this franchise has been on a historically inept postseason run despite churning out teams as good as this one. So I watch with zero expectations of what can happen in the postseason with this team.

The Eagles aren't fine. They have a serious problem at right tackle and qb. My parlay of Saints +6.5 and Saints money line was right on the money.

They are not the same team without Hurts So lets not get carried away. Minshew is a stand in the pocket QB far more affected by blocking than Hurts who can run and make defenders miss. It is not a coincidence they have lost 2 in row without him. Hurts had a full practice yesterday and looks to return to help Philly wrap up a first round bye and top seed.

I don't go into any post season expecting SB just cheering the team on. I can honestly say even during the SB seasons in the 70's and then in the 90's I always cheered the team on and hoped to make the SB. As a fan that is all I can do, this team no different I have 0 say, all I can do is show support of this team. I have always felt that if you can come out of the reg season with a good enough record to make the playoffs then you have a chance and a chance is all I need

How about just the NFCCG?

Since the Cowboys last made a NFCCG (the year they won the SB), they are only one of 3 teams in the NFC to not play in a Champ game over that stretch: them, the Lions and the Commanders. Great company.

Worse, every other team in the NFC, over that same period, has been in a minimum of two NFCCG over that period:

Pack - 8
Eagles - 6
49ers - 6
Rams - 4
Vikes - 4
Panthers - 4
Falcons - 4
Saints - 3
Bucs - 3
Seahawks - 3
Giants - 3
Bears - 2
Cards - 2
Lions - 0
Cowboys - 0
Commanders - 0

You lament how "hard" it is to make a SB but we haven't sniffed a NFCCG in 25 years and yet somehow every other team in the NFC except bottom feeders like the Lions and Commanders have been able to do it at least twice.

Of course I want that but have not become so jaded as to crap on this team. I hope like hell they get to the NFCCG hell I hope for more than that. I'm a loyal fan always have been always will be. I have been through the 1-15 and I have been there when they won their first SB, but I have never been one to crap on this team. Hell if I get to that point I find a team I can support, but as long as I am alive I will back and support the Dallas Cowboys come hell or high water

Support doesn't mean you have to blindly just accept everything shoveled at you and pull out the poms 24/7.

I support them. I hope they win. But I won't be a stupid fool and lap up the BS they constantly shovel and just assume that this team is gonna be different than previous ones. I don't assume that this 12 or 13 win team is any different than ones in previous years. Prove it.

When this team has been bad like during the Henson, Hutchinson and a whole host of others or during the Campo era I knew this team was poor and any improvement was welcomed. In years I have seen real talent added to this club and have seen them produce yes my expectations grew not based on what Jerry or anyone else said but based on what I was seeing from them. I look at this team, yes I see certain weakness namely run defense and at times all to often I might add penalties in droves. Yet despite that this team has been able to overcome it. Their record vs winning team who been much better hell above 500. Know says you must believe that Jerry is shoveling but to become so jaded? Sorry something I can't do.

26 years, 3 playoff wins total makes many people jaded. There have been other really good Cowboys teams that won 12-13 games that had people saying the same thing you are saying now and they dropped turds in January.

Some fans are just tired of it and are no longer willing to give them the benefit of the doubt or will be fooled again by the PR hype about how great this team is. Prove it this January. Stop talking about how good they were this year. Its meaningless. It all comes down to January/February.

Nothing Jerry is saying or not saying that is affects my views. I think this is a good team one who is capable of making it all the way, being honest I think there are other good teams who are also very capable. To me that is what makes this game exciting and something I look forward to. The chance to see my team face off vs other top teams. I'm not concerned with being disappointed, hell I'm a grown man I have delt with greater disappointments than a football game. I want this team go in and play great and let the chips fall where they may.

Unless they suck from Sept to Dec. Then Jan and Feb don't mean squat. We had a few of those years under Campo.

It never ceases to amaze me at how many “Cowboys fans” ^^ continue to crap on them even with a 12-4 record. Are they real Cowboys fans? I don’t think so.

I love the "Cowboys fans" to infer we aren't real fans to be concerned lol. Got to love it. Record means zero once the playoffs start. And the goal is to win in the playoffs, right?

You also didn't refute anything I said. Eagles looked like a juggernaut against us 2 weeks ago with Mineshew. They almost won that game and scoring a ton of points. That is concerning. If it doesn't concern you, cool. But to demean fans who have concerns with areas of this team is silly. Being a superfan doesn't get you any rewards.

Totally worth the risk.

I read that the Eagles have never been the #2 seed before, but have been the number 1 seed 6 times, and have made at least the NFC Championship game every single one of those times, and going to the SB 3 of those.

THATS worth the risk.
That's a pretty impressive stat. Thanks for posting.

That all sounds well and good but you almost never highlight the positives and instead focus on the negatives.

That is typical. Lots of players finish out a game because they are pumped up on adrenaline for hours. Once that adrenaline goes away then pain takes over and swelling etc. Has happened to lots of Cowboys players over the years.
I've had an ac joint injury in my shoulder I had the joint removed surgically

I'm sure the sc joint is fairly similar

I worked everyday w my ac joint messed up for 9 months doing physical labor w no injections or pain meds

I think he'll be ok for 3 hrs on Sunday js
