What kind of question is that?! Any true Blue Cowboy should know that ALL of them were great!

Not to hijack this FOOTBALL thread...but, I will tell you my pick of an NBA athlete....

Dennis Rodman...! I like people that need to be their own man...he could have been better then he was...?

(and if the Boyz have a player on this new team like that...being his own man)? I sure hope it all works out! :star:

MY ANSWER to the first question....is...Hollywood! Go read his books...! Then you will know his story...it's a sad, sad...sad situation!

THE BEST!

HOLLYWOOD! (too you, bro)!

Defensive MVP for what 5 sacks in a season?

I don't think so.

The guy was decent. But he was never an upper echelon DT.

I don't know how many sacks he had, but since your so up on his stats let's see his QB pressures, tackles for losses as well. At his best he was arguably the best DT in league at that time IMO.

Bo is a very good friend of mine. He is an outstanding man. It is unfortunate what happened to him and his football career, that said he never liked playing football. Baseball was his passion. Now it is his business...

I started watching sports in the early '70s and no one in that time ever impressed me as much as Bo.
When he played in the NFL I always felt like I was watching a college player play against junior high kids.
I loved watching him go wild at the plate and in the field, too.
A few guys could play both sports, but barring the injuries, Bo could dominate at both.
I don't know that a lot of younger people really appreciate what a phenomenal talent the guy was. He was so physically gifted it was almost like watching a cartoon character at times.
Glad to hear he is doing well.

Since I'm a hoops fan too, just wanna say that I think Dennis Rodman is a horrible choice. He didn't start partying too hard until his Bulls days and by then he was already close to 35. He had his day in the sun in his prime.

For hoops, I would look more to someone like Ralph Sampson.

He left college illerate & a coke addict. He was still amazing to watch. I'm sure he had Joe Gibbs fooled. :laugh2:

That's the thing Lett didn't generate numbers.

Ralph was ruined soon after the trade to Golden State because of a leg or hip injury; before that he was a reliable 17-18 ppg 10 rpg player with a terrific defensive upside. Houston wouldn't have traded him though, but for Lew Lloyd and Mitch Wiggins getting caught up in drugs and becoming unusable as guards.

The biggest tragedies in basketball that I recall are Len Bias and Hank Gaithers.

erik williams, before his car wreck....damn, he was as dominating as LA in his prime, and maybe even more intimidating.

There was once a QB named Greg Cook who played for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bill Walsh once said he was the best prospect he ever coached and his career was ended prematurely.

Heck, could also say Troy...He retired early or he still might be playing...he already made HOF so he probably doesn't belong on this list..Career stats would have been a lot higher tho.

Troy has rather modest stats really. In terms of yards and TD's at least. I think he will go down as one of the most poised QB's of all time (NFC Champ Game AT San Francisco). His accuracy is undeniable and the 3 rings of course. AIkman was incredibly effecient, and he could air it out if he had to. 3445yrds was his best season.. and hte fact that the most TDs he ever threw was 23 shows what type of team(balanced) he played on. Prolly missed out on alot of TD's cuz of Emmitt.

i've watched highlights of bo jackson...possibly the fastest, strongest rb ever...the hip was just a shame, he looked like a man among boys...the little i saw of him.

Larry Allen was a Pro Bowler last year right?
Yeah, but unlike Allen, I never heard or read about anybody saying that Lett didn't deserve to go to the Pro Bowl. I seriously recommend watching a few games from 1996- the guy was near-unstoppable.

I think that Kevin Smith was on his way to becoming one of the great Cowboys cornerbacks before the achilles injury. He was never the same after that.

Agreed. Just ask Jerry Rice.
