Embiid, Noel, Russell, Saric, 5 2nd round picks this year, potentially 4 1st round picks next year. A boat load of cap space.
We're coming.
My concern for this year is that the Lakers maybe thinking the same way, If Towns goes one.... So the Sixers will have to go with Mudiay or trade down and pick up Hezonja and other assets. Despite what folks think, the Sixers do have a plan, and my guess would be Okafur does not fit how they want to play.
The Lakers need a big. I'd be surprised if they went with Russell.

and this is why I wouldn't be surprised....

Durant vs Oden.... Bowie vs Jordan....
and this is a guards league now...... NBA isn't quite as clear cut as it once was.
They also met with or will meet with Mudiay and Towns and Okafor.
Its a G's league because of the lack of quality big men. When you have a chance to get a top big, I think that takes priority over a point G.
Risen is right. Not about the Sixers and that fact that they have cap and picks and are on their way back. About that, he's delusional but about the Lakers needing a big man, he's right. However, there are some big men in this draft outside of these two that could work. We don't know what happens with Love and that's going to be pretty key. Love is the offense in the pivot that Lakers would need. At this point, I don't think anybody really knows what Love is going to do so it's a guess right now. In this draft, there are Three other legit defensive big men in this draft that could be guys the Lakers take later, that would help them play good defense, rebound and run the floor. I don't think they have to go for one of the top two centers necessarily, just depending.
I'm rooting for both of you guys to be right.. because I want Russell in a Sixers Jersey... but, I don't think everyone sees Okafur as elite.... he's slow of foot, and limited defensively, and on defensive boards... Great post offense, but he will only set up in certain places, so defending him is predictable. Towns is the guy with upside.... So we'll see what the Lakers are thinking... and yes the lakers met with Mudiay and Towns... for workouts.....
A love/ Okafur, or Love/Randell frontcourt would be some of the worst defensive frontcourts ever... But we'll see.... I'd rather you guys be right than me... but I have a feeling that #2 maybe where things get shaken up...
And why does Risen have to be delusional.... everything he said about the Sixers is accurate.... here we come!.....Been down too long!
and just for effect... the best rookie big man prospect next year is....

2 years.... It does seem like a lifetime though, right...lol...Sixers aren't coming back. They've been losing on purpose for how long now?
As for karma, all the Sixers are doing is playing the system. They were stuck in that 7th-8th seed mediocrity rut for years. The only way out of that is to get real bad for an extended period of time and collect assets.
I'll respond back to this at the Sixers Championship parade in 3-4 years.
Its not like the team on the court doesn't play hard. The GM just isn't about to slap a few band aids on the roster to try to squeak into the playoffs.
I'll take this over Doug Collins' approach any day. At least there's a chance to build a contender.
