Bob Hayes, Bob Lilly, Lee Roy Jordan, Tony D., Roger Staubach, Harvey Martin, Emmitt, Larry Allen, Charles Haley and Tom Landry.

Add Don Meredith, Chuck Howley, and as another poster said, Bill Bates, and I'm good.

Growing up in the the 90's the playmaker was always my favorite Dallas Cowboy. Despite his off the field issues #88 brought it every Sunday. He was a joy to watch.

era 1 and all time Roger- Randy
era 2 Emmit -Troy
era 3 Whitten-Romo

No disrepect to Jordan, Lilly and Hayes etc. A little to young to remember.

Roger Staubach. A true leader. I always felt the Cowboys had a chance to win with him behind center, no matter the score. He had "it".

You going to leave out the white guy, Golden Richards?

Roger Staubach... He was one of the main reasons I became a Dallas Cowboy fan.

It took me some time to really think about this question. And, I will probably get blasted for this, But, thinking about all the great players, mine is Hollywood Henderson.

The rise and fall, and rise again.

So, I like him because his life told a story about being a poor man, then a star athlete, a Superbowl winner. But, all that time he was doing coke. And all those drugs did him in, and he was no longer a Dallas Cowboy...he was sitting in prison.

Then, something turned him around? He won two lotteries, is sober for the rest of his life, and is giving conferences around the cities helping other athletes learn from his mistakes.

So, even though he was not the greatest player the Cowboys have had, he is the most player I like because of how he turned out.

The rise and fall, then rise again.

Didn't really start watching football until 2009ish so my favorite players are of the most recent era.

1) Romo
2) Dez (didn't like him at first, but he's definitely grown on me)
3a) Witten
3b) Ware
