Iron Maiden, Metallica, G-N-R, Motley Crue and Judas Priest if I had to name 5 which is tough to do. Several others listed are right up there.

One thing I always chuckle at in threads like this are non-rock bands who make the list. Everyone has their own idea of what a "rock" band is I know.

Every single band I see listed is rock. There are probably 40-50 legit variations of it. I could also say that absolutely none of the ones listed are rock because none of them are Chuck Berry or Elvis. :stop:

Rush blows goats. I used to like them, then the radio station KEGL (The Eagle, in Dallas) was playing Rush every third song for like two years straight. Since then, I've been a big time Rush hater. :laugh2:

I don't know a lot about Rush, but with the information you've provided, I would have thought they'd be right up your alley.

Listen to the stuff that the radio does not play. Heck i was tired of hearing tom sawyer too after the 1500th time.....but delve deeper into their material to find the good stuff.
And they dont blow goats.....

Chicago

But original 70s Chicago. Not slow beat lovey dovey Chicago from the 80s.

AFI

One of the best shows I ever saw was a Sick of it All show. Now granted Sick of it All is a brutal simple loud metalcore band but they were so tight and harsh it was pretty amazing.

The openers were pretty amazing-Indecision,Hot Water Music(my fave), and AFI, the kids were all over AFI more than any other band remember this was late 90's like 97/98 or something. It was in a tiny tiny club maybe 500 capacity.

That would of been an awesome show to be at.

Metallica (up to and including the black album, after that not so much, with the exception fo S&M)
Skillet
Red
Pillar

Can't really think of a 5th. There are plenty I like well enough, but nothing jumps out right now. I'm just not much of a music person. Outside of Metallica, I only know of the others because of my wife, but they are good.

Most rock is fine usually, as long as it's not the screamo crap. That's just a waste of good instrumental sounds IMO.

I liked the rock of the 50s but t6he 60s not so much and the 70s were better but that is where it ended for me. I haven't listened to a radio since the early 80s.

On You tube I like the Corrs (an Irish band)
The Corrs
Anything with Irish dancing in it.
Any North or South American indigenous people's music.
Genghis Khan (an 80s German group, really excellent.)

For those who have never heard the Corrs, click here:

Beautiful chicks, great talent, great music and they dress up a little when they work. No tats, no piercings, no drugs; just great music from talented beautiful people.
