I don't have a problem wit him. He had an ok season and he and Jenkins do a pretty good job as corners. I don't think we have anyone better at this point and I don't know if you could get a starter in the draft that is better than he is.

Great year? I'm not sure about that, he was terrible on crucial 3rd downs this year. Third and long too. I don't think he needs to be replaced but he definately needs to play better..

If you don't think he is a top 5 player, that's fine. He probably isn't. But he is definitely top 15 and good enough to start on every single team in the league. Easily.

As far as being timid with tackling, I'm not sure what games people are watching. Watch the next time the guy he's covering gets a little pass to the flats. He almost always flies to the guy as he's catching the ball.

Roy W was a 5 time Pro Bowler I wanted him gone 4 years prior to his dumping - PB's mean ZERO.

The fail is strong within the walls of this thread. Newman does not need to go anywhere; he is a very solid starter in this league. I would however like to see us draft another CB in the draft to groom for his replacement because he's not going to last forever.

Out of Scandrick,Jenkins, Newman,Sensabaugh,Hamlin, Ball.. Newman had more big hits this year then any other DB. So if Newman is soft, then our entire secondary must be.
