Why are we in a rush to sign Dak?

"It's been a grind [but] it's been fun," Schottenhemier said. "As you guys know, the system's not broken. It's not broken. They've won a lot of games here. Mike's been around for that.

"And then when we get into OTAs, we'll actually put together real installs with specific formations with builds, and then we'll tweak those as we prepare for training camp."

There's a plan going forward, it's already being executed, and all involved understand just how important it is for the Cowboys to take the next step in the postseason in 2023. For his part, Schottenheimer might be unaccustomed to not calling the plays as OC, but if it means possibly hoisting a Lombardi trophy in February, count him in...

Given the amount of weapons the team has on offense, there's at least a solid chance his first time will be the charm.

Dak fans have the same pre game post game and CZ posting ritual. Hit that pipe and get right is really your only excuse for defending his play.
Brian Schottenheimer is a Pipe Head.....these Dak Lovers!!!

Dak Haters Jokes are Lame!?:flagwave:

#Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer on Dak: “I love the man, I love the work ethic; he's just a tireless preparer. The way the guys follow him, the way he wants to be coached…That shows you the sign of a true winner, a champion, and it's been awesome.”

Show me where I said "it was all dak".

You won't because you can';t. You just lie so you can fight with people.

Of course Dak played a critical role in the loss....but not th eonly reason.

I hope this clears it up for you. I can say it any more brickly.
ok, good, glad to see at least one of you is changing their tune. going from one of you saying, couldn't hit the side of a barn, to now, he played role but wasn't the sole reason. I wonder where the change of heart is coming from. usually there is a spin...so I wait for the spin

so the niners loss wasn't dak? ok. I guess you are changing your views.
In reality, he had a heavy hand in the loss. He simply did not play well at all.

Why in the world are some of you so freaking set on drawing out these weird battle lines where you have to either blame Dak all the way or make excuses for him? It's weird. He kinda stunk in that 49ers game. So did many others. He played very well in the Bucs game. But that was a continuation of a pattern we saw the 2nd half of the year where he looked great one game and bad another. If this team wants to win a SB, Dak absolutely has to be more consistent than he was. He needs to be better than he was in that 49ers game. Doesn't mean others around him don't have to improve or play better either.

What's wrong in pointing that out?

Once again...sir brick. I have NEVER "changed my tune". Not sure why I can;t get that through your thickness.

You find me being "one of you"...whatever that means.

I will say it again..slow....
I
have
never
changed
my
tune.

I have been quite clear all along. You don't get to rewrite my history so you can fight and claim some FAKE PHANTOM victory for "change of heart". NOT gonna happen.

But go ahead...you try. I DARE ya. Find me ...show us all...solely blaming Dak. In fact I will send ya 20 bucks for your time...if you can. Put your money where your big mouth is! With all due respect of course.

I will just go ahead and but the Jackson back in my wallet.

I am not setting battle lines. I simply asked. given on this thread, the win against bucs was dismissed as irrelevant and that it was a team win and the loss to the niners was Dak's fault and he can't hit side of a barn.

my argument all along has been same as yours. everyone had a hand in it. Dak included. he wasn't good against the niners, so were a few other players that were bad. it goes hand in hand.

The problem is he's the one with ball in his hand for every offensive play and therefore has the most influence and opportunity to change the result.

My main concern with Dak is that in recent years he fails to step up and lead the offense when they need him to most....great at bullying lesser Defences, but needing a TD with a hurry up offense...nope.

The BUCS were probably the worse team to ever make the playoffs. But lets celebrate a JV level playoff win. YAY! Woohoo!

Ok now that's over, let's talk about these 49ers 2 years in a row. Same outcome.
Its funny y'all say this now but this site....50% of the site said we'd lose to the Buccs lol. Now they are the worst team to ever make the playoffs...even though the Commanders a few years ago were TERRIBLE.

He had arguably his best performance last year against what was ranked as the best defense in the league. I think its just a hurdle to get over. People are downplaying it now but to go to Tampa Bay and beat the Buccs was a good win. I wish it would've followed up with a good performance against the 49ers...unfortunately it didn't. But that doesn't devalue what that Buccs win was.

of course, he is the one with the ball in his hands, but other players play a part. he is not throwing, blocking, running and catching it all by himself.....yes, he has highest influence, but not the only influence. OL plays a great part. our OL struggled against the 4 man SF front. it allowed them to drop 7 into coverage and create pass rush with only front 4 most of the time. any defense would thrive in that situation.
running game plays a great part in all of this. WRs play a great part. for example, both Schultz and Gallup disappeared in that game. they had chances, but didn't cash in, didn't make plays. could Dak played better. YES. could Gallup and Schultz play better? YES. there was a video of a series in one of the posts, that called Dak inaccurate with a throw to Gallup that he could have/should have come down with. Throw him open, over the defender and only place he could catch. he stopped his route and made it difficult for himself. , then there is this post about not throwing WRs open. well, hell, throwing WRs open in a tight window requires WRs to make some plays too, because by default, throwing into a tight window means its less than perfect!@! in a game like that, when opportunities are far and few in between, when there is one, then you need to cash in. we didn't.

and we all know Dak is not elite. as a result, he needs more support for the team to succeed. he is not going to play like mahomes and he is going to be less than perfect. guess what....EVERY non-elite QB needs the same. every non-elite QB is going to be less than perfect...... our other choice is to have an Elite QB. so lets find one. where!? no one can provide any options and they all just complain. to what end!!!??

so proving that Dak is not elite, is meaningless exercise.

IMHO, Jerry made a big mistake in shipping out Cooper (for peanuts) and relying on Gallup coming off mid season knee surgery. then letting Wilson walk and putting Noah brown in 3rd WR role. that was a disaster. Gallup wasn't certainly up to form. Noah sucked. and that left CD on an island by himself to carry the receiving group. Zeke was absolutely useless. and then Pollard got hurt in the game, so essentially we had CD as the only weapon. half this board wanted Schultz gone, yet we blame Dak for not throwing a craapy TE open!!! you can't have it both ways.

and then there was Diggs, who refused to make a tackle and allowed a big play to happen. as I mentioned, in a game like that big plays are far and few in between. they made one that could have easily been prevented. then Diggs drops a sure interception that the ball hit him square in his hands in our redzone. then they scored a TD. again, another big play opportunity wasted.

fact is, SF played tough, physical and we didn't and got our arse kicked.

You've done it again...dismissed Dak's weaknesses in one line and ranted about other excuses as to the failings.

You keep making these sweeping assumptions...using both sides of opinion...from DIFFERENT people. Then using that to fight on the internet. Kinda pathetic.

I know *I*...never said Bucs would beat us. I know *I* said the BUCS were the one of the most epically bad teams to ever make the playoffs (top 5 ever)....as their entire division sucks they just happened to be less of LOSERS. 8-9. LOSERS!

So you mixing up what people said and combining them like it was some unfathomable paradox that needs fought tooth and nail is disingenuous at best...straight up lie at worst.

I am not hugely proud of that win. I am WAY more proud of going out to niners and having a great shot to beat them. Just made a few huge mistakes that put the niners in the drivers seat.

Neither game shows we are elite....just yet. CLOSE! Both games show exactly who we are and have been.

You of course have every right to be very proud of beating the 8-9 dysfunctional 2022 Bucs. Knock yourself out.

We beat a terrible team...just like we usually do. We lost to a really good team....like we usually do.

I’m not mixing anything up. There was a poll made on this site and half of it said we wouldn’t. And I understood it. Brady and the Buccs were playing better football.

But did those same people....magically...say bucs were terrible? Your "logic" doesnt add up.
Also note i never said "worst team ever". I said one of....top 5. That washington team you mentioned is another.
Are you having trouble keeping facts straight or lying on purpose?
