Why cut Jerheme Urban and keep Miles Austin?

I just don't get it. Miles is a long way off from being a reliable receiver. In my opinion, Urban had way more upside and I think he could play on special teams just as well as Miles.

Would there have been any significant difference money wise? I'd assume Urban would be cheaper as well.

Also we cut Remi Ayodele? What the hell for?

Not sure how you can tell Urban has WAY more upside than Austin from 1 PS. You must be a talent guru.

As far as Remi goes, we have Ratliff to backup Fergy.

Austin has way more upside and has even produced more than Urban-in preseason. Urban has been a pro since 2003 while Austin is in his second year(2006) and they were battling for the fifth or sixth "development" spot on the roster. Frankly a guy like Urban should be up to the third spot by now in his career.

why keep urban who had one good play that would never happen in a real game

Urban is 27 he is what he is.

Austin is young and still adapting to the pro game. He has nothing but upside, tremendous speed, agility and size.

I really like austin. Never thought for a second he would get cut, I cant believe some did.

What the hell did Urban do to make you think he's 1) has more upside (BS), and 2) is closer to being a reliable WR then Austin?

And how can you say he's better on ST's then Austin?

Pretty much everything you stated is false. All of it.

Miles Austin is an awful WR. He has straight head speed, and thats it. Bad hands and a raw route runner. He is no prize.

He's better than Urban though.

Cause Austin is the better player. Both special teams and as a WR

Ayodele will probably hit the practice squad again, they are going to have Ratliff back up NT

And I wouldn't call Austin "Awful".

What's with all the extremists around here?

I guess you didnt see him thursday because he caught the ball in stride and looked natural doing it.

Urban is a four year veteran, and his only claim to fame is beating us with that touchdown grab to tie the game in Seattle a few years back. If you don't recall, then remember after the touchdown, Drew Bledsoe throws a horrible pass and we get beat by a last second field goal by Josh Brown. This helped ruin our slim playoff hopes that year!

that was ryan hannam, A guy I had big hopes for when we signed him last year.

Urban caught a td against us in that crazy julius jones game in 04.

We had no defense that night, it was pretty sorry.

I don't know but they've been coming out of the woodwork since the Texans game.

Most of the time I treat it like white noise and ignore it... but why people were so sold on urban because of one preseason punt return sometimes shakes me out of my doldrums.

This is absurd. Miles Austin has been developing into a pretty good prospect. Urben is a rookie with raw skills. And going with him would be a step back.

I know that he was having a good camp, for a rookie. But Miles has been good for us, too. So we know what we have with him. And I saw him making some better plays as a receiver than Urben.

OK, so Austin didn't have a run back for a TD. But he was the better receiver.

I'm not sure what it is that you're seeing about this guy that would warrant going with him over Austin, unless you know the guy personally or something.

No, he isn't.

Interesting, for some reason I though that he was. Give me the scoop on him. I'm basing what I'm saying off of what I've seen in games.

I do like his size and speed. He just doesn't look as rounded as Austin, imo.
