Why cut Jerheme Urban and keep Miles Austin?

Interesting, for some reason I though that he was. Give me the scoop on him. I'm basing what I'm saying off of what I've seen in games.

I do like his size and speed. He just doesn't look as rounded as Austin, imo.

Drafted in 2003 .....still looks like a rookie ....

Thats it really

Wow ..... he has been a rookie for 4 years ......

that sucks.

;)

That's sad. Because he looks like a rookie. Again, I stand corrected. But I feel even better about going with Austin now. He looks like the better player - certainly.

And I wouldn't call Austin "Awful".

What's with all the extremists around here?

Slow down on the extremists comments, I am criticizing our 5th WR! There is nothing extreme about calling out Austin. He did not have a good summer. Luckily he made a couple catches in last game. Thw same one that doesnt count for Urban:confused:

Miles Austin is not a very good WR. He has nothing on Randall Williams.

And being "better" than Jerhme Urban, which is debatable, is no ringing endorsement.

Sorry, I really dont see what you all see in him.

Has he played for anyone? If so, why isn't he with a team now?

Urban was on his way to probably a better career than Miles. He suffered a foot injury and was forced to IR against his will, causing a mini controversy in Seattle.

No one sees anything in him ..... except he is better than Urban.

I think you are the only one making a big deal about our 5th or 6th WR.

Urban was cut because Romo never threw a pass at him in the preseason.

That's my theory.

Regarding the first bolded part, there goes what little credibility you had.

Second part, none of us think he's "Great" or even "Good". We see a 6'3" 225 lb WR with blazing speed and solid hands. We see potential. We also see a good special teamer (both covering and returing kicks).

What's wrong with a WR with nice measureables and great potential that can play very good on special teams while he develops?

Ridiculous.

Who was OFF tonight?
Miles Austin had a horrible night, just when you thought Austin was up there at the WR spot, tonight’s performance makes you say, “uh oh” He missed routes, didn’t go hard enough for the passes Romo threw him, disappointing game. Sam Hurd didn’t have as bad a night, but he did have a fumble, but made up for it later and solid in special teams.

That's the key. Did Urban even play ST other than PR?

Yet he's on the team and Urban isn't.

So that should tell you a little something about Urban.

If he did, he was invisible or something.

And even the punt return, if he does that against someone's "First team" punt team, he's tackled inside the 20.

Those guys he returned it against are probably jobless right now.

Listen buddy, its clear you know very little about either player. You have never seen either catch a ball in the regular season, but your an expert! LOL!

I dont know which TC you followed, but here is a couple snipts. I am sure you'll tell me I am wrong or "in-credible";)

Is Miles Austin in trouble?

MICHAEL AINSWORTH / DMN

Wade Phillips was raving about rookie wide receiver Isaiah Stanback today. Stanback (right) caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Brad Johnson on Saturday night. The Cowboys plan on using Stanback more on kickoff returns.
Does this mean the end of Miles Austin, who bailed out the team last season on special teams when Tyson Thompson was hurt?
Maybe. Austin slipped at the end of his route, which resulted in Tony Romo throwing an interception on Saturday.
You can believe T.O., Terry Glenn, Pat Crayton and Sam Hurd are locks. Stanback is there, too. But if he can return some kicks, will the team send Austin packing?
Jerard Rabb and Jerheme Urban are looking pretty good in practice, so they might push Austin out as well.
Just a thought.

So, I go by what actually happened. Not being fooled by a little speed!

Rack, we are talking about Austin. Urban isnt on the team.

Yeah Ok, Urban's not on the team, Austin is. So obviously I know more about the players then you do, Chico.

And you don't go by what happened, you go by what some writer wrote about.

WHat do journalists know about football? They get paid to write, not evaluate.

Show us an article about how well Urban did in any game.

LOL! I didnt say anything about Urban. I said I am not impressed with Austin.

Should I be?

We're talking about both, Susan.
