why didn't we pick Steven Jackson or Chris Johnson?

He's been one of the best running backs in the league every year for a team with ZERO other offense. He does it against 8 and 9 man fronts CONSTANTLY because everyone knows he's the only threat on that team.

He's already passed Dickerson as their all time leading rusher and shows no signs of slowing down, and should get more open field to work with as they get better as a team now.

Ok, not being a jerk about it, but I doubt it happens. If he stays healthy for an unusually long time time, maybe, but he's been banged up quite a bit before. This is already his seventh year... How long do you expect him to play?

And the Rams rushing leader doesn't mean much. Dickerson only played there barely four years. (And Jackson can't carry Dickerson's jock anyway.)

Hey, this is a message board. You're well within your means to voice your opinion. If you doubt it that's cool, but based on what he's done, and that the rams are finding more threats on offense, and the fact that he's not slowing down yet.. i'd say there's a great chance. That's all.

He's only 27 now. Let's say he only averages 1100 a year for this year and the next 3 years (I'd bet he gets more). That puts him at over 11,000 rushing yards for his career. All he has to do is eek out 1000 more yards to end up in the top 10 all time rushing yard leaders. Every one of the top 10 rushers is in the HOF or will be.

Dickerson played 65 games for the Rams. Jackson now owns the record after 91 games. I don't think "already" means that much. When Dickerson played in his 91st NFL game he had accumulated 10,021 rushing yards and won 4 rushing titles. At that point it was easy to see that Dickerson was a sure fire future Hall of Famer. It was crystal clear unlike Jackson's current situation. I am not betting against Jackson, but there is nothing certain at this point.

If we had drafted Jackson, we don't have DeMarcus Ware.

While I'm not ruing missing out on Jackson, that isn't true. The Julius trade got us the 20th pick in the 05 draft, which was Spears. D-Ware was our own pick because we Testaverde'd the 2004 season.

And Parcells made it clear that if they'd only had one first rounder in 2005, that Spears was his guy. So, we'd still have Spears, we would've just way overdrafted him.

This.

..doesn't seem very far fetched that he will be in the HoF.

Honestly? Its that outrageous to you? You really can't see CJ being a future hall of famer? Or Jackson? Really..

Jackson is not even close to being a HoFer. He is barely top 10 in RBs in the league. CJ has a chance if he can continue at this pace for at least 5 or 6 more years.

Jackson is for sure. I'll guarentee that right now. CJ is off to a VERYY good start.

Its certainly not laughable to consider either of them future HoF'ers. Just shows some people think their knowledge of the game is far superior to others here when clearly it is not. ha

I think it's laughable to consider Jackson as a HoFer. He's never been the best RB in the conference, forget the league. The HoF is for dominant players, not just guys that put up decent numbers on mediocre teams.

Barely top 10 in the league? Please..

If you're going to enter a debate at least come with some facts or backing for your statements.

Steven Jackson has been one of the best RBs in the NFL over many years behind the Rams awful offensive line, on an offense that had zero passing threat. Teams have been stacking 8-9 in the box on him consistently and he still performs. Unfortunately for the Rams, winning NFL games requires some kind of passing game and a defense.

And you know that because you watch so many of their games right?
