why didn't we pick Steven Jackson or Chris Johnson?

I love how people say we should have drafted Chris Johnson and all would be well, as if they know Chris Johnson would be equally productive in Dallas or getting a lion's share of the carries.

It only brings out the equally dumb counterargument that Johnson would be buried on the bench, not getting carries, Felix would be the one going off, etc.

The fact is this: NO ONE HAS ANY IDEA of what would have actually happened if we drafted Johnson and Jones was in Tenn. Pretending that you have some keen insight into how history would actually play out is laughable.

We don't know. And we'll never know.

We have Jones; they have Johnson.

That's the end of it.

I believe your missing the point of the argument, at least from my perspective. I believe most are saying that CJ is just simply the better overall RB. I think that's pretty obvious to most as well. So with that said, maybe his production wouldn't be equal if he was on our team, but i'd much rather have the better RB on the Cowboys.

He looks better because he went into a totally different situation...one where he had nobody legitimate to share time with, and also one where he has the best run blocking OL to run behind.

Felix Jones has looked very good, and sometimes has looked exceptional despite splitting carries 3 ways, being hurt some and running behind a mediocre OL...its not far fetched to think that if he were in TN and Johnson here, that he'd be the producitve guy and you people would be crying about why we picked Johnson instead of Jones.

If Felix was as good as CJ, we wouldn't have people sharing carries in the first place. Do you really think we'd ignore all that talent if he was head and shoulders better than Barber? He's not. That's the situation. And you can argue about run blocking and yada yada, but CJ makes people miss. That's how he breaks alot of his long runs. Felix can't make anyone miss.

You also forget that for the past couple years the Titans didn't have much of a passing game so teams stack the box against them. Only recently have they developed a solid passing attack.

CJ is a better RB than Felix. Just admit it. It doesn't mean Felix is terrible, i like him, he's an alright back. But we messed up cuz we wanted an Arkansas boy. That's all.

That Miles Austin guy... I forget who he plays for... but why didn't we get him? I mean, he was undrafted, so it didn't cost a thing. So if we knew how amazing he was, why didn't we just go get him?

Oh.

Oh.

this argument really doesn't work for stephen jackson

he was the best available running back and it was a big need for us. its kinda weird that we let him get away.

Because they both have dreads...duh.

Kind of reminds me of the Bulls and the no headband rule that they had under the Skiles era.

Actually, a lot of things about the Skiles era was entertaining.

His "staring" down of rookies when he took them out to dinner....

When did we sign Barber to that long term deal?

Also, I've seen the holes Johnson has had to run through. Alot of those you could drive transfer trucks through.

The Yankees clean shaven look rule, the Marge Shott no earrings for her players rules (or pretty much anything involved with that nut). All of them are silly.
