Why do some here want to trade Diggs?

My deal was with the non attempted hit on Kittle. Maybe he was thinking defenseless receiver penalty, who knows.
As I been posting and am soured on him for now. I am sure come TC that may go away.

I can't remember the reactions when drafted, maybe mixed but many more for than against. After his 1st year, most thought he had improved a lot by the end of the season.
Of course all the INT's, but also gave up yards, though not as many as some said, or some crappy stat site.
Last season, his coverage and yards given up improved a lot, and going into December, I remember reading he was credited with only 4 missed tackles the entire season to that point. So less INT's, but better overall play in coverage.

He should be fine, that will be or should be something they address this off season. If he wants that huge contract, he will be tackling.

Trading Diggs just sets you back to the point of needing a pro bowl caliber CB... Diggs is the kind of player who can help you get to a Super Bowl, so trading him wouldn't be wise unless you got another player worth trading him for, which I haven't seen a scenario posted that suggests it would be a good idea.

People are sour on him over his tackling, and I kind of see their point. But he gives you too much in coverage to just bounce him off the team.

Let's be clear on Diggs...he didn't miss tackles he made business decisions on when to tackle...he can cover but he won't tackle

That's the issue
When I read "business decisions," I always think of Mike Jenkins, especially the GB game.

Well, some folks on this forum don't think we should ever give a second contract to any player, except a lineman because they last longer and play into their mid 30's with not much drop off. I understand that reasoning, I just think you can't cover all situations with the same actions.

I think Diggs is one of the better CBs in the league, but I don’t know if there is enough to pay everybody else that needs to be paid.
So if players need to be moved, why not move someone who will get Dallas some draft capital in return.
If Dallas is able to improve the DL and LB play, then that helps the secondary and hopefully mitigates to some extent the loss of Diggs.

Too many here suffer from shiny new toy disease. Diggs is no longer the shiny new toy so they want him gone. Best to ignore those people.

I get it.. create a problem so we can fix it. It's all clear now.

Honestly not sure. Maybe it was happening before then and I didn't notice.
Diggs was fine tackling for most of the season until he had that game where his fingers were all pointing in different directions and he had to have them re-aligned in the locker room. That was when he started protecting himself in tackling situations and really trying to to put himself in harm's way unless absolutely necessary. And I would wager after Brown and Lewis went down he was probably instructed that no matter what happened he could not get himself hurt. Maybe he took it too far. Who knows? It's something to watch this coming year but I think he will go back to being his normal self once all the aches and pains are healed.

that is kind odd though. Why those 2 games?
It wasn't just those two games. He was doing it in the regular season but worse later in the season for sure. Some have suggested he was protecting an injury but that doesn't seem legit to me as nothing has come out to support that. He also participated in Pro Bowl activities which admittedly aren't a tackle football game anymore but if a guy was injured enough to avoid the way he was you would think he would just shut it down.

Yes, you can see this from just the game footage. He would actively avoid making contact or helping teammates wrestle a player down, etc.. Also, he did not miss the tackle on Kittle. He intentionally made sure he didn't make contact.

My feeling is that he & his brother believe he can get a huge contract and he's trying to make sure he doesn't suffer an injury to hurt his value.

So, for me and a group of fans it's not that we want to trade him .... but we are getting vibes that signing him might not be a good idea if he is going to put himself above the team even in playoff games.

Is it because he didnt get int''s like he did previous year?
Or is it because of some missed tackles?
Isnt he still a good cover guy?
he is going to want to be one of the highest paid DBs in the league. he simply isn't. he doesn't tackle at all. actually avoids it. and he is not a shut down corner. when he gambles and goes for interceptions he gives up big plays, so its 6 of one, half a dozen of other. make a big play, give up a big play. when he played off the WRs, he didn't get as much interceptions and controlled giving up long plays.

he is not a top 10 CB.....

same reason many fools want to move on from dak, they made up their minds along long time ago, listen to parroting and believe not paying Diggs that 22mil instead he would easily be replaced. instead, they want to spend high draft pick and pay an older Ramseys 22mil instead. they always covet other players ..grass is not always greener, well unless it slippery and painted like the SB LOL

the way this place talks of trades and cuts all the time, we would be the Jets at best of the fans were allowed to be GMS,

Look at the caliber of fans we have

focus on that one play where he looked like crap instead of focusing on the whole season in which he was a top 3 corner and locked up the likes of Jamarr Chase and Justin Jefferson

you dont find that just anywhere

Any smart fan knew he wasn't going to do that again, but the poor tackling was PAINFUL to watch. First time I saw it early in the season, I got bashed, then later it was seen several times

Diggs is good. I’d like to keep him. Unfortunately, he is going to be expensive to keep, probably too expensive, so I’d rather take the drafts picks, assuming they can get a decent haul, and bring in young, hungry talent.

Maybe it's the tyreek hill effect. Kc trades their best weapon and nets a haul of picks. Signs a bunch of mid their wrs to replace. Drafts impact rookies for their defense. Wins super bowl.

ok so this Kittle issue is overblown

He went in with his shoulder and tried to pop Kittle and completely misjudged it and whiffed badly...it was a completely unsound way to try and tackle someone

so fans now are sour on him and want to trade him because of let me check...A whiffed tackle?

he wasnt the reason we lost....Dak was and im a Dak fan
