Why do some here want to trade Diggs?

Diggs is good. I’d like to keep him. Unfortunately, he is going to be expensive to keep, probably too expensive, so I’d rather take the drafts picks, assuming they can get a decent haul, and bring in young, hungry talent.

We keep diggs sign him to that big deal, he starts with more bad tackling, and we're questioning why we overpaid lol

Maybe it's the tyreek hill effect. Kc trades their best weapon and nets a haul of picks. Signs a bunch of mid their wrs to replace. Drafts impact rookies for their defense. Wins super bowl.
they have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid no shade to their wideouts but he makes them better

ok so this Kittle issue is overblown

He went in with his shoulder and tried to pop Kittle and completely misjudged it and whiffed badly...it was a completely unsound way to try and tackle someone

so fans now are sour on him and want to trade him because of let me check...A whiffed tackle?

he wasnt the reason we lost....Dak was and im a Dak fan

I love you for your Dak honesty, that's not why he needs to be traded, I don't think he needs to be he needs to work on tackling, it was so so sad to see. It took me back to flashbacks of deion

If Diggs wants a ton of money and you can trade him for premium picks I’ll be all for it..

It’s just not how the Cowboys operate though. They love overpaying the guys they draft to the point it hurts the team.

Because the front office is stupid and will pay him like he's the best in the league.
That’s exactly the problem.

I think Diggs is awesome. The game against Justin Jefferson this year was incredible.

so if we trade diggs then what?

youre looking at Joseph as CB1 and Isreal at CB2 and Bland as slot corner

and this will be mixed up this will just be where theyre slotted

we dont persue in free agency

Trading Diggs would be a step back. Yes, he was disappointing as a tackler several times this year. But he is a good cover corner overall and we are very thin at that position going into this off-season.

Having said that I also think we as Cowboys fans tend to overrate Diggs. He’s good but he’s not great. His 2021 season interception totals covered for a lot of mistakes he still occasionally makes. I’m glad he’s here but he’s good, not great. I’m not completely convinced he’s worth the big contract he will seek in 2024. This coming season will be interesting.

I mean if you are going to trade guys based on their performance, how the hell do you justify keeping Dak around after his play last season?

But the problem is the Jones’s and paying him wayyyyy more then he is worth.

If you’re going to spend money then spend it on linemen.

Guys outside of the front 7 and OL are a dime a dozen.

The CB market is broken right now and not worth it.

Because he says the right things, we got it wrong with Tony so we're too emotional to let him go

Really depends on who else is available and at what cost. Is there an Awuzie type good but not great on a much better team friendly deal? Sometimes you gotta play a little small ball. i'd rather pay 2 guys in the 6-8 million range instead of 1 guy in the 20/year range if none are elite. and no Diggs is not elite but he is a good CB. If you can't find 2 good CB's on cheaper deals then yea I might pull the trigger on Diggs with a decent contract.

I have the SF game, will look at that again soon, will try to watch diggs, but they rarely show what is happening down field.
This could also come back to coaching, if you guys noticed why didnt dallas coaches?
I don't think it that uncommon with more pure cover corners esp bc the difference in weight vs the recievrs...almost feel like they expect it to a point and for the safeties to pick up the tackle
