He's the epitome of a first round bust.

Has been nothing but a marginal special teams player.

Bobby is that really you??? It's ok to admit it... No seriously, what's to like about a 1st round bust who doesn't fit the scheme????

Because he promised to deliver my pizza in less than 30 minutes. Oh, and the fact that he's "KP."

Cowboys fans tend to hate anyone that the team has invested any significant team resources in that doesn't reciprocate the gesture. In this case, we've pretty much wasted a first round draft pick on a guy that has done nothing outside of special teams help. He's a laughing stock with some of his teammates, and very much so with the fans. He plays soft.

Up until this season I was an avid Carpenter supporter, but I can no longer find any reason to have any hope in this player to turn around. Sadly, he's a bust.

Hate is a strong word, but i am thoroughly disappointed in his lack of production. He seems to be alright at special teams but you don't draft linebackers in the first round only to play special teams.

Its been three years, so if he is back next year he has no excuse not to pull his weight and show his worth otherwise its time to cut our losses.

The lone time he showed promise was in the Wildcard game against Seattle in 2006, I think he's just not cut out for an NFL defense.

Has any other first round bust/special teams player ever been more sought after by the Northeast media?

"Hate" is the most liberally and misused word on this forum.

I agree...but there are those that use it and mean it. I don't doubt for a second that there are hundreds of posters on here that actually 'hate' Carpenter.

He tackles a bit like a wet sponge.

He's supposed to be a scary linebacker. He isn't.

Because we wasted a first round pick on a player that gave us the value of an undrafted free agent signing....oh, and because he sucks.

He's the legacy left to us by Bill "I'm going to pick the son of one of my boys" Parcells. Never mind talent or ability, it was enough that his old man played decent for Uncle Bill.

That alone apparently was enough to waste a first round pick on.
If Lawrence Taylor had a son who never played the game and was a pretty good chess player, Parcells would've picked him too..................

That is a truly moronic post.

Pretty much everyone had Carp as a first round pick and someone who projected as a solid, NFL ready, player. He wouldn't have lasted much longer on the board has we gone another direction.

True. No one said he was a "reach."
