Why does everyone hate Bobby Carpenter..?

True. No one said he was a "reach."

He was described by most as a safe pick.

And it isn't like BP was always hot on former player's kids -- he wanted nothing to do with Chris Simms.

4-3 outside linebacker into a 3-4 defense.

never going to work.

Let me see:

a) he sucks,
b) he's afraid of contact,
c) he sucks,
d) he is horrible on special teams,
e) he sucks,
f) he was a wasted 1st round pick (good job Kiper),
g) he sucks,
h) he worries about his hair more than his playing time,
i) he sucks,
j) he sucks,
k) he sucks,
l) he sucks...

1. He went to tOSU
2. He was taken in the 1st round
3. Manny Lawson was still on the board
4. Tuna picked him
5. He has done nothing for us defensively
6. He has done almost nothing for us on special teams.
7. His claim to fame was his short lived porn stache

How is that working out for SF? Carp would likely have similar stats if he played for a really bad team like SF.

I hate him because i wanted cromartie, who was of course selected one pick later by the chargers.

I almost have to wonder if this is a rhetorical question. I mean, isn't it obvious that he's bad?

We hate "barbie" cause he puts more effort into his hair than his play...

Oops, sorry for the repeat Quarterback Coach...

I feel bad for Carpenter. I've never heard that he's lazy, he always says the right things in interviews. I'm sure he'd like to be a better pro than he's turned out to be. I don't get what there is to hate about the guy.

anywone see the ''inside the huddle'' with Bennett and Choice I believe? during commercial break they were chit chatting about how Carpenter was a soft player...and not tough at all.....

he went from CARP...to CRAP!

Lawson is playing well in SF. He did have that ACL injury early in 2007 that ended his season.

As noted, it's nothing personal, he is just a waste of roster space. I have seen him standing around more tackles than any player I can recall in team history. He is around contact, but rarely making it. He is around plays, but never makes any.

Bobby Carpenter should not be on the roster next year. Time to start getting a little more out of roster spots.

A kickoff specialist would be far more useful that the spot that Bobby has taken for the last 3 years.

Because I want to cut him on Madden but can't due to the $3 million cap hit...

That and he's the epitome of a first round bust.

I don't. I actually like the kid and hope he gets a shot.

At the same time, I am not at all averse to trading him or waiving him if he is not one of the best 53 for the roster. As long as he is one of the best 53 he is welcome as far as I am concerned.
