Why does Jerry lie?

He lies because he can, and knows his fan base will tune in to every interview and radio show he does, spewing his propaganda. He'll do a little bit of this and a little bit of that to try to keep the natives honest, but unless you are new to this franchise, there is no substance to what he ever says. Just wait for the draft, and then the thrilling ride of signing 245 UDFA's that will follow. As long as your expectations are kept in check, Cowboys football is pretty fun to watch for about 12 games a year leading up to the new Season of America's Sweethearts

This morning they were over the cap. The Osa trade nets us about 8 mil. It’s not like we haven’t spent money and created space
We were well over with the recent additions and after the trades, we are still over.

I think the last lever we have is extending Quennin, restructuring Bland (they don’t want to do that), and sign Pickens (they really don’t want to do that)

So, Quennin lets us sign Aubrey and put some toward our draft class.

Total Cap Liabilities: $336,966,924
  • Top 51: $284,343,371
  • Team Cap Space: ($289,461)
    • Offense: $166,465,574
    • Defense: $117,156,840
    • Special: $11,350,333

Half the fans in The zone act like it’s blasphemous to tell them they are hoodwinked by him. They honestly get mad and stalk you on other platforms. They send messages to your kids IG accounts that say “your dad is the scum of the earth on CZ” . All because you tell them the truth.
I’m sure that would merit a permanent benching. I just don’t see it. Please don’t send a swat team to my house for disagreeing. :)

Do your fingers actually think before they type? We already know your brain doesn't.

I could see you yelling this at your wife after her saying something about you not fixing a broken light bulb since 1996 (if you actually have one - wife that is, not the broken light bulb).
We live in a hut. No electricity, no running water. It’s close to the beach and next to a fresh water stream. We’ve conquered the mosquitos but still have issues with the rats at night time. The little *******s. They taste pretty good so I’ll keep refining my rat trapping abilities. Protein is protein.

That’s from over the cap? I don’t think it is right. From what I’ve read that’s where we were before Osa trade but may be wrong. I seen that on over the cap earlier but haven’t seen it chsnge today

You know what, I understand we don’t have the money under the cap to do much. Daks hit on 2027 is 76 million dollars. Every year rather than tell the truth, that they have made some bad decisions on certain contracts. Jerry spews the lie “he is all in”. So free agency happens and they do nothing to improve the team. This is always followed by Stephen coming out and saying how they are happy with their trades, and how they like their guys and the resigned a key piece we are very excited about the draft and they are adding to the roster 365 days a year. It’s coming. Just for once I want Jerry to put down the Johnny walker and say straight up. That he is to blame, he is sorry for misrepresenting the franchise and he is working to shed the over burdensome contracts. He just can’t do it.
do he

Osa is gone off the list. You can manually calculate the totals to get to the number

Prople also forget that we still have Zach Martin counting $16.5m in dead cap this year

Spotrac is even worse. They have us down $10m but they don’t appear to be updated

Because half the fanbase has a room temp IQ and buys his lies. Cowboys are gonna be the bestest next year. Jerry and Stephen are gonna take us all the way with their shrewd moves and big spending. If you don't believe that, you're a hater.
Shrewd moves huh? I am on the sidelines relaxing on the table that Micah Parsons layed on before he was traded within 2 weeks.

I'm not a financial guru but all the Cowboys fans could stop buying everything Cowboys and Jerry would still make $500 million and more from advertising and media deals.
Advertising dollars dry up when there are no fans.

We have an out after 2027 but it comes with a $72m dead money hit

In 2028 it’s $86m

Void years 2029-2032z
They are not taking the out. They will likely extend him again soon presumably for 62 or 64 or whatever the market is.

Of course

You mention “63 or 64”

That’s Dak’s age when we will finally be able to stop paying him

Jerry's mentality is similar to that of an unmentionable profession (a wise policy here).

Jerry thinks we are not very bright. He believes in the adage that if you say something enough times, sooner or later it will be regarded as true.

He has used his untruths in an attempt to redraw history with his claims that he was far more relevant in those championships years, beyond being lucky enough to hire Jimmy Johnson. It's frustrating to listen to and sad to debate.

He was untruthful in describing himself as a Cowboys fan when he bought the team. It's not that he fired Landry, technically or otherwise. It's that he didn't anticipate the repercussions. C'mon, a Cowboys fan would have understood.

I've never trusted anything he says.

He does the same thing every year and the kool-aid drinkers fall for it. That's why he does it.

So you mean like they made an honest offer. As in a Stephen offer which is a stick of gum and a mint
No put your hate for them aside. And just look and listen, Dean said their offer was better he just chose Vegas. Crosby they made a good offer they just wanted the 2 ones. Got the best safety available etc

I'm a believer in "Actions speak louder than words". This way if Jerry says something and it doesn't happen, oh well. I wasn't expecting it anyways. Do I condone what they're doing? Hell no. When I see the team get into the playoffs, I know they did something right. If I see we're in the toilet bowl, I know something needs to be done. Do I trust them to do what's right to get us at SB contention? 31 years answers that question. I refuse to get angry anymore. Life is too short.

Yep, fans do miss the dead money. That’s killed the saints for years, it’s really important to spread those deals out over time so you don’t get hit with a bunch in a yrar

Why does everyone think Jerry is making all these decisions without input from Schotty and the defensive staff? Parker was with LB Dean last year; he knows his value. Jerry offered as much as anyone for Dean, but Dean went another way. Jerry had plenty of money freed up, so if Parker and his coaches had said, man, we have to have this guy to run our defense, Jerry could have overpaid and gotten his man. I think they wanted him, but had decided that he wasn't all that special to go beyond a certain point.

Do you think we moved on from Winfrey, Thomas, and Osa just for fun? Winfrey and Thomas were very inexpensive versions of Osa. They are all gone; that is our clearest statement that a 3-tech is not needed or wanted in this scheme.

Jerry has been a terrible gm for decades, but he has shown, for whatever reason, that his offseason he is listening to coaches and letting them do things their way. No way he didn't bust the bank for a LB or trade/release all his 3-techs without the coaches involved.

In all due respect, do you honestly think our HC/DC/OC are happy with the lay of the land right now? Allowing a Coach to have input is not new for Jeryr, but the decision to spend $1 more is entirely his. If Parker/Schotty, or whoever, are happy to miss out on meeting our needs, then they are simply not ruffling their bosses' feathers and saying, "Okay, sir, let's not go crazy and put my job on the line if we fail." MM clearly wants AR back in Pitt, and rest assured Omar Khan will spend $5 extra if Mike says if more than worth it to not have to fall back on Mason Rudolph or whoever.
